  • Patent number: 9909844
Abstract: Armor plating is provided for armored land vehicles or watercraft, the armor having a base armor plate and an additional armor plate fixed thereto on the enemy side, such that it can be removed. A structural component can be used as a base armor plate for such vehicles, and comprises a layered structure with a core composite having an inner honeycomb core and at least one covering layer. The layered structure does not contain supporting metal layers or ceramic, hard material layers. Another essential characteristic is the use of fixture elements which are anchored in the core composite to allow additional armor plating to be detachably fixed on the enemy side. The core composite therefore essentially offers basic protection itself, while also acting as the carrier structure for interchangeable additional armor plating.

  • Publication number: 20110129050
Abstract: A method and device for explosives identification bombards a sample with neutrons the energy of which is to the positron activation energy of nitrogen and to the required energy for a neutron proton nuclear reaction of neutrons with 16O to 16N. Electron positron annihilation radiation emitted by the sample due to the neutron bombardment is then detected as a function of time. The respective concentration and the concentration ratio of oxygen and nitrogen in the sample is determined from the time dependency of the annihilation radiation, and the explosive is identified by the comparison of the concentration ratios of the specific concentrations of oxygen and nitrogen with the corresponding substance ratios of known explosives. By radiation with neutrons at the same time radionuclides 13N are created from the nitrogen contained and 16N from the oxygen contained, the decay of which generates electron positron annihilation radiation with characteristic half-lives.

  • Patent number: 6976921
Abstract: The invention relates to a rotationally symmetrical coupling comprising an annular hub made of a rigid material, which is surrounded by an outer ring made of a rubber-elastic material. The coupling also comprises an outer contouring, which is located on the outer diameter and which is provided for positively transmitting torques, whereby the outer ring is reinforced by an embedded, annular, rigid solid body. The aim of the invention is to achieve a quieter operation of a coupling of the aforementioned type and to better protect this coupling from becoming damaged. To these ends, the invention provides that the rubber-elastic material is silicone and that the annular, rigid solid body, on the outside, has a shape, which is similar to that of the outer contouring of the outer ring and which maintains, over the circumference, a nearly constant distance from the outer contouring of the outer ring. The rigid solid body is preferably comprised of a curved, metallic strip material having a constant thickness.

  • Patent number: 6896622
Abstract: The invention relates to an elastic shaft coupling, comprising at least one torsion element, with an elastomer body as transfer element, to which connecting flanges are fixed. According to the invention, the axial shortening of the elastomer body, in such an elastic shaft coupling, at high revolutions, can be reduced, without producing the resilience thereof, whereby the elastomer body is encompassed by a circumferential support ring, which is exclusively bonded to the elastomer body.

  • Patent number: 6623362
Abstract: An elastic shaft coupling which as a transmission element comprises at least one torsion element with an elastically deformable elastomer body on which axial flange connections are fixedly mounted on the input and output sides. The axial width of the elastomer body increases radially from the inside towards the outside. To reduce or better distribute the local mechanical and thermal load on the elastomer body resulting from the dynamic load, the invention provides for the axial width of the elastomer body to increase radially from the inside to the outside more than proportionally, at least in sections.

  • Patent number: 6582148
Abstract: The invention relates to an elastic shaft coupling having at least one torsion element (1) which comprises at least one elastomer body (5) serving as a transmission element. Axial metallic connecting flanges (2) are mounted in a fixed manner, preferably by vulcanization, on the input and output sides of the elastomer body. In order to increase the transmittable power density and to improve the rubber-metal connection in the edge areas of the connecting flanges (2), the invention provides that the connecting flanges (2) axially project outward with regard to the elastomer body (5) from the plane of the connecting flange while forming an arch at least on the radially extending edges (2a, 3a) of the connecting flanges between the elastomer body (5) and the connecting flanges (2), the edges being formed on the outer edges of connecting flange segments (2) and/or on the inner edges of passages (3) in the connecting flange (2).

  • Patent number: 6234903
Abstract: A shaft coupling (1) has at least one elastic torque transmission element (4) in a single piece to which connecting elements (3) are fixed at the driving and driven sides. In order to increase the stressability due to the thermal stresses on the elastic transmission elements (4) and thus to ensure higher power densities with smaller volumes, at least one cooling element (6) made of a good heat-conducting material is non-detachably embedded in the transmission element (4). The cooling element (6) extends through a core zone of maximum heat generation and through a relatively cooler outer zone of the transmission element (4).
