  • Patent number: 6283248
Abstract: A climbing harness for use with a belt worn around a user's waist for jointly supporting a load when climbing, and for compactly storing away when not in use. The climbing harness has a single-length strap configuration with a pair of strap ends and two slots located at a middle part of the harness. Each strap end is passed around one of the thighs of the user, and through one of the two slots, thereby creating two thigh loops. An interlaced portion, such as a knot, is formed at each slot for maintaining the size of the thigh loops, and each strap end is then preferably secured to the belt by a carabiner type clasp device.

  • Patent number: 6257942
Abstract: A glow-in-the-dark rescue line throw-bag having a phosphorescent rope line loosely stored in a receptacle having a transparent sidewall. A first end of the phosphorescent rope line is secured to the receptacle, with the central portion of the phosphorescent rope line stored in the rope storage volume. A second end of the phosphorescent rope line may be grasped by a user at an open end of the receptacle. When the throw-bag is deployed, and upon the phosphorescent rope being substantially charged, a rescuee who has fallen into the water may easily view the glowing rope line through the transparent wall of the receptacle as it is being thrown in the air. In this manner, a rescuee may better sight where the throw-bag has landed in the water.

  • Patent number: 6202908
Abstract: A spare magazine carrier for carrying at least one ammunition magazine on a user's person. The spare magazine carrier has a carrier frame for seating and supporting at least one ammunition magazine, and a downwardly retractable flap for covering and retaining the seated ammunition magazine. The flap has an elastic member connecting a lower flap end with an upper flap end. The lower flap end is secured to a lower portion of the carrier frame, and the upper flap end is detachably securable to a top end of the carrier frame by resiliently extending over and around an upper exposed portion of the seated ammunition magazine in a preferably inverted U-shaped configuration. When the upper flap end is released, the elastic member causes the upper flap end to retract down and away from the opening, and thereby allow unobstructed access to the ammunition magazine.
