  • Patent number: 4466213
Abstract: Two embodiments of a toylike aerial flight device having a simulated rocket configuration are described. The first embodiment is manually powered and the second embodiment is powered by a solid-fuel propellant cartridge having a thrust charge and a retro-fire charge. Both embodiments follow similar flight paths, namely, a substantially linear elevating launch to the crest of flight followed by a slow gyrating descent. Both embodiments have a head projecting forwardly from the body, a pair of swept-back wings symmetrically disposed relative the body, and a pair of weight segments whose position relative the center of gravity of the flight device is fairly critical. In the solid-fuel powered device, the retro-fire charge is ignited at about the crest of flight to tilt the head about a pivot hinge. This tilting action promotes gyrating flight.

  • Patent number: 4319664
Abstract: A remotely controlled oil drain valve device to be installed in the threaded drain plug opening of automotive crankcase permitting drainage of crankcase oil without removal of the crankcase plug. A cylindrical tapered valve core having cylindrical arms extending from end surfaces of said cylindrical tapered valve core and being seated in a cylindrical tapered valve seat opening of a cylindrical valve body having an affixed threaded tubular nipple extending radially from said cylindrical valve body, and a disk-shaped cable bracket yoke having an extended arm affixed selectively to said cylindrical valve body by means of threaded fasteners.

  • Patent number: 4037702
Abstract: A coin operated dispensing machine is specially adapted for dispensing relatively large, thin tickets, usualy requiring a plurality of coins in payment therefor. The effective thickness of the tickets is increased by enclosing them in individual wallets or packets, the slide is fitted with a tongue and groove arrangement, a lock out arm rejects coins when the machine is sold out, and the coins are accurately counted to permit operation with only the proper count.

  • Patent number: 4018531
Abstract: In a "speckle pattern" interferometer a coherent light beam is split into object and reference beams, the former being directed to illuminate a surface under inspection. Light scattered from this surface is imaged at an image location, at which there may be disposed the screen of a television camera device, the imaged light being reflected to the image location by a planar mirror. The reference beam is directed to the image location to interfere with the imaged light, this beam diverging to the image location from an effective point source located behind the mirror through an aperture in the mirror.
