  • Publication number: 20150265264
Abstract: Methods, devices and systems are described for treating venous insufficiency in which the vein is compressed at least partially along a treatment zone. A system can be provided including an injection device, such as a glue gun, that is operably connected to a delivery catheter that can be advanced across a treatment zone in the vein. The delivery catheter can be used to deliver one, two, or more boluses of media (e.g., cyanoacrylate) to occlude the vein along different spaced-apart sections of the treatment zone. External compression can also be applied to the vein by a compression element, such as a hand or multifunctional ultrasound transducer, to occlude portions of the vein along the treatment zone prior to or during the introduction of the boluses of media.

  • Patent number: 8946945
Abstract: A fabric product with a low powered activation device and a conductive arrangement, which includes a body having an outer covering which is soft and flexible to providing an outer skin surface and an inner skin surface, and defines a body receiving cavity. The low powered activation device is an electronic unit received inside the body receiving cavity which comprises a casing, a power source, an activation circuit, and an operator which is activated through the activation circuit. The conductive arrangement electrically connects between the electronic unit and the outer skin surface, which includes one or more conductive threads affixed on the inner skin surface, each having one end portion defining an activation control which penetrates through the inner skin surface to the outer skin surface, thereby when the activation control is contacted by a user, the activation circuit is activated to activate the operator of the electronic unit.

  • Patent number: 8715336
Abstract: A stent graft includes at least one aperture extending through the main body thereof, into which an extension portion may be deployed for positioning within an adjacent branch flow lumen. The extension portions include self biasing features, wherein the extension is biased into engagement with the main body to seal the interface thereof. Additionally, the extension portion may be configured for tortuous or deviated anatomy, to enable sealing of the extension portion with the body while extending the extension portion in a substantially non-radial direction from the main body.

  • Publication number: 20140058356
Abstract: Treatment of aneurysmal blood vessels with local delivery of therapeutic agents thereby reduces or lessens the severity of an aneurysm, and, where used in conjunction with the placement of an excluding device, provides for more rapid recovery of the blood vessel from any disturbance occurring during placement of the excluding device. Therapeutic agents are placed in the aneurysmal site in a time-release carrier medium, such that the therapeutic agent is released into the aneurysmal site over a period of time without the need to provide systemic introduction of the therapeutic agent. The carrier may be introduced through the patient's dermis, such as with the use of a laparoscope, or intravascularly, through the use of a catheter. The carrier may be in a solid matrix, viscous liquid or liquid form.

  • Patent number: 8494171
Abstract: An energy saving PWM sound device forms a frequency-dependent impedance device implemented on the PWM output of the voice-ICs in series to lower the power consumption and to enhance sound quality of the voice-IC products. The device includes a hollow core body and an elongated conductive element. The core body has a top rim, a bottom rim, and two side rims to define a through channel therewithin. The conductive element winds around the top rim of the core body, wherein two ends of the conductive element are adapted for connecting with the PWM output, such that when the conductive element is electrically conducted, the core body acts as an inductor at lower frequency and a frequency-dependent resistor in series with the inductor at higher frequency for blocking most of PWM carrier frequency so as to reduce the power consumption of the voice-ICs product.
