  • Patent number: 11933001
Abstract: A system and method for the application of friction-modifying coatings to roadways, walkways, pathways and other areas subject to vehicular, human or animal traffic, the system and method comprising the controlled, simultaneous application of binder and filler to a surface of a substrate, using a mobile device which passes over the substrate as the binder and filler are being applied. The system includes a mobile platform configured for being coupled to a vehicle. A binder applicator is mounted on the mobile platform and includes an array of spray nozzles coupled to a resin container. An air knife is mounted on the mobile platform and coupled to an air compressor for generating an air curtain. An aggregate dispenser bar including at least one aggregate dispenser is coupled to an aggregate bin and mounted on the mobile platform for dispensing aggregate.

  • Patent number: 8812339
Abstract: Non-pending tasks having no pending due dates (e.g., past due tasks) are scheduled with pending tasks having pending due dates by first generating a hypothetical schedule and then an actual schedule. The hypothetical schedule is generated by distributing hours to complete pending tasks as evenly as possible over as many days as possible up to respective due dates; then scheduling non-pending tasks during hours normally available for work and which are not distributed to pending tasks; and then recording as quasi due dates for respective non-pending tasks the dates that the respective non-pending tasks would be completed on the hypothetical schedule. The actual schedule is then generated by scheduling non-pending tasks with pending tasks in chronological order, according to pending due dates for pending tasks, and quasi due dates for non-pending tasks.

  • Patent number: 5923634
Abstract: A data storage device having a light source for emitting a beam of light along a directed path, and an array of light sensors, each of which light sensors corresponds to a predetermined quanta of data. A disc is configured, and positioned relative to the light source and the array of light sensors, for receiving the beam of light and redirecting the path of the received beam of light to a particular one of the light sensors, wherein the array of light sensors is responsive to the reception of the beam of light for generating a signal indicative of the particular light sensor which receives the beam of light, thereby indicating the quanta of data corresponding to the light sensor.
