  • Publication number: 20040193523
Abstract: Systems and methods for selectively providing stock shares that entitle rights to use a cruise ship property and/or amenities associated with the property. A management entity oversees and selectively schedules use of the property according to individual stock shares. The stock is purchased through a travel agent. In one implementation, the use is the dividend provided to the stockholder. In another implementation the use schedule is created by receiving use requests from stockholders and scheduling use of the property according to which stockholder first requested the property for the scheduled use period. In another implementation, a lottery system is used to assign use dates or periods to the individual shareholders. In yet another implementation, preference to use dates/periods is made based on the number of stock shares or the type of stock shares (e.g., shares of a preferred stock) owned by the stockholder.

  • Patent number: 6308804
Abstract: A quick connect-disconnect brake hub lock system is disclosed. The locking mechanism is attached to camber tubes of varying degrees of 0° to 12° with wheels that move in and out from the centerline of the wheelchair. Such system of locking must be quick disconnected and reconnected to adapt to the various camber tubes that have varying degrees of angles. Not only do the camber tubes adjust the caster and camber of the wheels, but are adjusted for wheelbase width The brake hub locking mechanism must move with these elements and have the capacity to lock the wheels at whatever position the wheels are in. The sliding mechanism in the handle is completely enclosed to prohibit dirt, which wears such elements quickly. The rotary cam mechanism sliding against the rectangular slider provides the means of pulling the cables straight thus eliminating breaking and thereby locking or unlocking the wheels of the wheelchair.

  • Patent number: 5799756
Abstract: A brake system for a wheelchair is disclosed. The brake may comprise two assemblies one for each of the wheels. Each brake comprises a mounting bracket adapted to be connected to a frame portion of a wheelchair, a handle pivotally attached at a pivot point to the mounting bracket, a cable having one end connected to the handle and another end connected to a pivot arm. The pivot arm is pivotally attached to one end of a cam rod. The rod is attached to another mounting bracket adapted to be connected to another frame portion of the wheelchair and has a latching mechanism connected to a portion of the rod and biased into engagement with a splined disc by a spring. The disc is adapted to be connected to a hub of the wheel chair.
