  • Patent number: 7724280
Abstract: A surveillance system having two specialized surveillance cameras with corresponding specialized illuminators is provided in a dual compartment container that eliminates internal light reflection problems by separating each camera and corresponding illuminator while combining each camera with an alternate illuminator, rendering the system more accurate, yet more compact and suited to unobtrusive placement. Considerable heat is generated by the specialized illuminators, requiring a heat sink to preserve illuminator life expectancy and to prevent the adjacent cameras from being adversely affected by the heat. Another feature enabling the system to work in its compact form despite the heat from the illuminators is that the protective case itself is adapted to be a heat sink for the illuminators.

  • Patent number: 7346196
Abstract: A surveillance camera and illuminator are covertly mounted in a partially rotatable bay window inner frame mounted within an electrical switch box. The bay window inner frame can thus be pivoted back and forth to orient the camera toward an entrance to a room in which the switch box is mounted. When the bay window inner frame is rotated to the desired position, a bay window switch box decor cover plate is mounted over the bay window inner frame, engaging it and locking it in the selected position by attachment of the cover plate to the switch box.

  • Patent number: 6912007
Abstract: This invention provides a surveillance camera unit that is suited for secure placement in an upper corner of a room, abutting two walls and a ceiling, allowing the day or night surveillance of an entire room with a field of view that captures the scene of the entire floor and all four walls, under bright light conditions and under no-light. The upper corner placement is ideal for minimizing the risk of an observed person grabbing onto the unit or tying something to it, either for purposes of destroying himself, the unit, or the surveillance camera equipment within the unit. The unit is substantially a truncated tetrahedron, with each of the four corners truncated and sealed. A back angle of a few degrees greater than perpendicular of each of the rear walls with respect to each of the other walls of the unit allows it to be mounted snugly within a corner even where the angles of the walls of the room are not square angles.

  • Publication number: 20030093805
Abstract: The present invention provides a dual camera surveillance and control system. The system comprises a high sensitivity mono camera with enhanced infrared response, an infrared illuminator array for zero ambient light surveillance, and a color camera that does not need to be enhanced in the infra red spectrum. The system also comprises ambient light level sensing, video signal switching technology and power conversion circuitry. The system combines optimized mono imaging under low or no light conditions with optimized color rendered imaging during high ambient light conditions, with both achieving high quality focus. The dual camera nature of the system is transparent to the user due to the integrated automated control of the system, and allows reduced power consumption, making the system suitable for a wireless, remote, self-contained system that draws power from the ambient environment.
