  • Publication number: 20240127695
Abstract: Described herein are various techniques, including a system that uses high-rate acceleration data for computing an accident score indicative of a potential collision and triggering an action in response to determining that the accident score indicates a potential collision. The system is configured to filter out undesired high-rate acceleration trigger events such as noise and harsh braking events prior to determining the accident score. The accident score is based on contexts or scores computed from high-rate acceleration data, speed, and GPS data captured by a telematics monitor deployed in a vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20070196678
Abstract: A multilayered sheet (10) is made by extruding a sheet (20) and bringing it into immediate contact with a non-woven sheet (40) before bringing the abutting sheets into a first nip (201) formed by a pair of pressure rollers (121,122). The multilayered sheet (10) then passes through a second nip (202) formed between two pressure rollers (122,123) and is cooled down through a series of additional chill rollers (123,124,125,126).

  • Publication number: 20050181327
Abstract: A disposable protective sleeve for temporarily covering a hand-held dental light curing gun having an elongated handle portion and a barrel portion that tapers to a transmitting end having a light guide from which light emanates, the gun having a curved transitional portion between the handle portion and the barrel portion. The disposable protective sleeve is made from a flexible plastic elongated tubular body with an opening at one or both ends. The body defines a generally straight proximal section and a curved section. The larger end opening is larger than the transmitting end, the barrel portion, the transitional portion and the handle portion of the curing gun, so that the sleeve is adapted to be placed over at least most of the curing gun by passing the larger end opening over the transmitting end, barrel portion, transitional portion and handle portion of the curing gun, so that the sleeve covers at least the transitional portion and at least most of the handle portion of the gun.

  • Patent number: 5119599
Abstract: A dressing unit for advancing and retracting a spindle, having a diamond roll rotatably mounted thereon, wherein advancement of the spindle brings the diamond roll into contact with a grinding wheel for dressing the grinding wheel. The dressing unit comprises an outer ram mounted within a housing, an inner ram telescopically disposed within the outer ram, means for advancing and retracting the outer ram to a positive stop, and means independent of the advancing and retracting means for incrementally moving the inner ram from an inner position to an extended position. The inner ram is connected to the spindle to advance the spindle to thereby bring the mounted diamond wheel into contact with the grinding wheel.

  • Patent number: 4111658
Abstract: A device sensitive to a combustible gas having an exothermic oxidation reaction comprises a catalytic element in the form of a body of material a major proportion of which consists of an aluminosilicate zeolite having a ratio of silicon to aluminum of greater than two and a three-dimensional pore structure; a catalyst metal within the zeolite pores; and heating means for heating the catalyst to temperatures at which it will cause combustion of the gas.

  • Patent number: 4057996
Abstract: In a system for monitoring the composition of exhaust gases from an internal combustion engine, a gas-sensitive resistor consisting of gallium oxide is exposed to the gases and is maintained at a substantially constant temperature above that of the gases. A signal is generated dependent on the resistance of the resistor, which varies monotonically with the air/fuel ratio of the inlet mixture, this signal being usable in a system for automatically controlling the composition of the inlet mixture.

  • Patent number: 4036592
Abstract: In a catalytic method for selectively detecting carbon monoxide in the presence of hydrogen in an oxygen-containing atmosphere, such as may be used in monitoring exhaust gases from combustion processes, the catalyst is a platinum-rhodium alloy containing not less than about 10% rhodium. The catalyst is maintained at a temperature such that it will cause combustion of carbon monoxide but will not readily cause combustion of hydrogen, the thermal effect on the catalyst resulting when a test atmosphere is brought into contact with it being sensed to provide a measure of the carbon monoxide concentration in that atmosphere.
