  • Patent number: 4226229
Abstract: An anatomy testing device for determining pregnancy in gilts and sows is disclosed comprising a housing containing an electronic circuit to generate and analyze ultrasonic waves. Located on the exterior of the housing are a transducer probe for emitting ultrasonic waves when in contact with the animal's body, a first light to indicate that proper airless contact has been made between the animal's body and the probe, a second light to indicate pregnancy of the animal because of the increase in fluid content of the uterus, an audible alarm to also indicate pregnancy, a charger plug for recharging the batteries, and a test button to activate the electronic circuit. The circuit comprises an ultrasonic transceiver monolithic integrated circuit, an inverter means, a binary counter means, two AND gate means and R.S. flipflop means to generate, transmit, receive the echo of, analyze, and interpret ultrasonic waves to determine animal pregnancy.

  • Patent number: 4138999
Abstract: A circuit means including a power source, a cathode ray tube, a source of high frequency sound, a transducer means for emitting and receiving sound signals, and mode control means for varying the visible output of energy across said cathode ray tube for making various anatomical measurements by emitting high frequency sound into an anatomy through said transducer, whereby the amplitude and frequency of reflected signals received by said transducer will be visibly reflected on said cathode ray tube.

  • Patent number: 4018358
Abstract: Different types of pills are stored in separate cassettes which may be operated by a dispensing machine for dispensing from the cassette into a vial. The dispensing machine provides a vacuum supply and a drive for operating a wheel in the cassette having a series of openings annularly arranged to pick up pills in the bottom of the cassette and carry them to a discharge opening under the vacuum pressure. A separator wall extending across the line of travel of the holes carrying pills deflects the pills through the discharge opening. A gauge is adjustable to overlie a portion of the openings in the wheel to vary the opening size so that only a single pill is carried by each opening. A photoelectric cell triggered by a fiber optic scanner at the discharge opening counts each pill. An agitator turns with the conveying wheel to break up pills bridged together. A switch is utilized to set an electronic counter to the number of pills desired.
