  • Patent number: 4728159
Abstract: A file storage unit has a generally rectangular frame which is open at the front for receipt of a sliding drawer. The drawer has downwardly projecting ridges which slide along the interior of the frame. In addition, the front portion of the frame is provided with a snap-on reinforcing rim which acts to strengthen the unit and to accommodate the stacking of several units. A stop means is provided on the drawer which contacts a portion of the rim to prevent the drawer from being accidently withdrawn from the frame. Further, openings on the rear wall of the frame and in the handle of the drawer allow the unit to be conveniently carried.

  • Patent number: 4601398
Abstract: A frame for supporting a multiplicity of files that have reenforced top edges formed with extensions intended to engage a pair of horizontal side rails and that have a web extending between the edges and hanging downwardly there between comprises a pair of horizontal side rails engageable by the extensions. Each side rail is formed with at least one aperture extending therethrough near each end thereof. A pair of end supports each comprising a horizontal cross bar and a pair of vertical legs is provided, the legs and cross bar of each end support having generally the shape of an inverted U. Each leg is formed on the side thereof opposite the other leg of the same end support and near the top thereof with a recess and a threaded bore. Each bore communicates at one end with one of the recesses and at the other end with the side of the leg facing the other leg of the same end support.

  • Patent number: 4568052
Abstract: Each arm of a first pair of arms is pivotally connected at spaced-apart pivot locations to a first clamp bracket and to an adjustment bracket, respectively, and each arm of a second pair of arms is pivotally connected at spaced-apart locations to a second clamp bracket and to the adjustment bracket, respectively. A first control is engageable with an arm of the first pair for selectively enabling and preventing pivoting movement thereof, and a second control is engageable with an arm of the second pair for selectively enabling and preventing pivoting movement thereof. When the first and second controls both enable the respective pivoting movements, the second clamp bracket can be moved to a desired position, and, when the first and second controls both prevent the respective pivoting movement, the second clamp bracket retains its position.

  • Patent number: 4505388
Abstract: A portable file comprises a case formed with two side panels, a front panel, a back panel, a bottom and a top. The two side panels, back panel and bottom form an integral structure. A first hinge connects the integral structure and the rear end of the top and permits pivoting movement of the top between a closed position and an open position. A second hinge connects the integral structure and the bottom of the front panel and permits pivoting movement of the front panel between a closed position and an extended position. A latch connects the top and the front panel whereby they can be releasably retained in their respective closed positions, and a handle is connected to the case whereby it can be carried. The side panels are formed with supports for a plurality of hanging files, and the top is formed with a retainer cooperating with the supports for retaining the hanging files on the supports when the top is in the closed position, notwithstanding tipping of the case.

  • Patent number: 4306919
Abstract: In a process for carburizing steel parts, wherein it is desired to shut down the carburizing process for a predetermined period of time without removing the parts, the improvement comprising the following steps:(a) introducing parts, which would not achieve 100 percent carburization prior to the shut down of the carburizing process, into the furnace;(b) determining the temperature (Tc,s) for each temperature zone at about which the parts introduced in step (a) are to be maintained in step (c) ##EQU1## wherein: ##EQU2## (c) maintaining the parts in the carburizing atmosphere at the temperature determined in step (b) for that temperature zone;(d) reducing the amount of the hydrocarbon component of the atmosphere;(e) gradually lowering the temperature from the level of step (c) to a predetermined level, less than about 1400.degree. F.;(f) during step (e), but before the temperature reaches about 1400.degree. F.
