  • Patent number: 4652394
Abstract: A stabilized built single-phase enzyme-containing liquid detergent composition is provided comprising:(a) from about 8 to 20%, by weight, of one or more surface active anionic detergent compounds;(b) from about 5 to 25%, by weight, of a water-soluble non-phosphate detergent builder salt;(c) an effective amount of an enzyme or enzyme mixture selected from the group consisting of alkaline protease enzymes and alpha-amylase enzymes;(d) an enzyme stabilizing system containing, based on the weight of the detergent composition, (i) from about 12 to 25% of propylene glycol and (ii) from about 1 to 5% of a boron compound selected from the group consisting of boric acid, boric oxide and alkali metal borates; and(e) from about 25 to 75%, by weight, water.

  • Patent number: 4368147
Abstract: A liquid detergent having a viscosity in the range of 40 to 120 centipoises at 24.degree. C. and which is fluid at 7.degree. C. which consists essentially of, by weight, from 10% to 60% of a water soluble C.sub.2 -C.sub.3 alkoxylated C.sub.10 -C.sub.18 alkanol nonionic detergent; 4% to 12% of a C.sub.2 -C.sub.3 alkanol, the proportion of alcohol being such that the physical properties of the liquid detergent would be unsatisfactory in the absence of a viscosity control and gel prevention agent 1% to 6% of sodium or potassium formate as a viscosity control and gel prevention agent and 22 to 84.5% of water.

  • Patent number: 4092273
Abstract: A liquid detergent having a viscosity in the range of 40 to 100 centipoises at 24.degree. C and which is fluid at 7.degree. C which consists essentially of, by weight, from 10% to 60% of a water soluble C.sub.2 -C.sub.3 alkoxylated C.sub.10 -C.sub.18 alkanol nonionic detergent, 4 to 12% of C.sub.2 -C.sub.3 alkanol, 1 to 6% of a water soluble salt of a dibasic acid of the formula (CH.sub.2).sub.n (COOH).sub.2, wherein n is 3 to 5 as a viscosity control and gel prevention agent, and the balance water.

  • Patent number: 3985687
Abstract: A liquid detergent of desired viscosity, conveniently pourable at room temperature and fluid at lower temperatures, includes polyethoxylated higher alkanol nonionic synthetic organic detergent, either polyethoxy higher alkanol sulfate or higher alkyl benzene sulfonate synthetic anionic organic detergent or a mixture of both, lower alkanol, sodium chloride, sodium nitrate and water, in certain proportions. The presence of the sodium chloride-sodium nitrate mixture allows the use of a lesser quantity of lower alkanol as a thinning and viscosity controlling agent, helps to maintain the liquid detergent pourable at room temperature and lower temperatures, and to avoid production of film on the surface of the detergent when a volume thereof is left exposed to air in an open container, and the salt mixture is essentially non-corrosive.

  • Patent number: 3954675
Abstract: A clear liquid synthetic organic heavy duty laundry detergent composition for use with an oxidizing bleach such as chlorine bleaches comprising a non-ionic and anionic biodegradable synthetic organic detergent system, water, an alcohol and at least one oxidizing bleach stable brightening agent selected from 4,4'-Bis(4-phenyl-1,2,3-triazol-2-yl)-2,2'stilbene disulfonic acid and salts thereof, 4,4'-diphenylvinylene-2,2'biphenyl disulfonic acid, and salts thereof. Small proportions of various additional optional agents such as sequestering agents and saltforming bases may also be included in the composition which is a single phase clear stable liquid which can be made opaque, creamy or opalescent if desired. The composition furthermore is substantially neutral or only slightly alkaline when measured at a 1% concentration in water and cleans and brightens soiled laundry to a degree comparable to that utilizing phosphate built alkaline detergents.
