Publication number: 20230259108Abstract: A computer implemented method includes receiving, by the computer, a request to display a process safety risk matrix associated with a process facility and displaying the process safety risk matrix. The process safety risk matrix includes a 2-dimensional representation of a plurality of risk matrix cells, each of the plurality of risk matrix cells associated with a combination of a likelihood level and a severity level. The computer implemented method includes displaying, by the computer, an indication of a hazardous process event scenario within a first cell within the process safety risk matrix, the cell location determined based on a Target Mitigated Event Likelihood (TMEL) and a Safety Severity. The computer implemented method includes displaying, by the computer, an indication of a second graphic indication on a second cell to identify a change in a hazardous scenario count associated with the second cell.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 11, 2021Publication date: August 17, 2023Inventors: Adam Delpech, Graeme John Laycock, Andrew Huynh, David Barry Granatelli, Jack Tsai, Prasad Goteti, Anthony M. Patent number: 11556159Abstract: A rated power supply system powered by PoE receives power from external power sources and supplies power to PDs. The system connects with PDs through PoE output interfaces. The system has a PoE analog controller to turn on/off of the output power of all the PoE output interfaces. The PoE analog controller also detects the output current of all the PoE output interfaces. The system has a packet switch controller, a power state detecting circuit and a voltage conversion circuit. The voltage conversion circuit merges the power received from external power sources to generate a first voltage. The CPU calculates an output current upper limit based on the first voltage. The CPU gets a total output current from the PoE analog controller. If the total output current exceeds the output current upper limit, the CPU will turn off the PoE output interfaces according to power output priorities of the PoE output interfaces.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 2021Date of Patent: January 17, 2023Assignee: Antaira Technologies, LLCInventors: Woody Pan, Jack Tsai

Publication number: 20210132196Abstract: A 360-degree Field-Of-View LIDAR is capable of delivering light to a target and detecting light reflected off a given target in order to determine the distance from the light source to the target over the entire 360-degree surrounding. The LiDAR has such capability because of the built-in light source, detector, and scanner which can steer the light source and the detector to cover the entire azimuthal angles. In some embodiments, the LiDAR has the unique arrangement of the light source and the detector which are fixed to a base while the rotating scanner and a flat optics contains motor, scanning mirror, and metasurface/flat optics to project the light source to its surroundings as well as receiving light from surroundings. In particular, flat optics perform the function of transforming the reference frame and beam steering in the vertical direction.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 5, 2020Publication date: May 6, 2021Inventors: Jack Tsai, Rickmer E. Publication number: 20210124019Abstract: A 360-degree Field-Of-View LiDAR is capable of delivering light to a target and detecting a fraction of the light reflected from the target to determine the distance from the light source/detector to the target placed at any point of a 360-degree panoramic field of view across various vertical elevation angles depending on the azimuthal angles. The LiDAR implementation allows the built-in array laser light source and an array of detectors to be scanned across the entire azimuthal angular range. The LiDAR implementation has the unique arrangement of the array of laser light sources, and the array of detectors affixed to a rigid base while the rotating periscope scanner contains a motor and mirror which can rotate in-plane to project the light source to its surroundings and receive light from surroundings. The system delivers a high frame rate, a high spatial (VGA-like) resolution, and a low power consumption system.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 22, 2020Publication date: April 29, 2021Inventors: Jack Tsai, Rickmer E. Patent number: 7388726Abstract: A disk drive includes a slider assembly and a controller that directs current to the slider assembly to dynamically adjust the head-to-disk spacing. In one embodiment, the slider assembly includes a write element having a first end, a second end and an intermediate section, a conductor that is connected to the intermediate section. In this embodiment, the controller directs electrical current through the conductor to heat the write element without writing data to a storage disk. The electrical current can be directed through the conductor at any time prior to data transfer or during data transfer. Heating the write element causes a deformation of the slider assembly to decrease the head-to-disk spacing. In another embodiment, the slider assembly includes a separate slider deformer. Electrical current is selectively directed to the slider deformer to cause a deformation of the slider assembly to obtain a desired head-to-disk spacing.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 2006Date of Patent: June 17, 2008Assignee: Seagate Technology LLCInventors: Robert McKenzie, Thao Nguyen, Xiaokun Chew, Gang Herbert Lin, Jack Tsai, Bruce Schardt, Steven Marshall
