  • Publication number: 20240181827
Abstract: In one embodiment, one or more suspension systems of a vehicle may be used to mitigate motion sickness by limiting motion in one or more frequency ranges. In another embodiment, an active suspension may be integrated with an autonomous vehicle architecture. In yet another embodiment, the active suspension system of a vehicle may be used to induce motion in a vehicle. The vehicle may be used as a testbed for technical investigations and/or as a platform to enhance the enjoyment of video and/or audio by vehicle occupants. In some embodiments, the active suspensions system may be used to perform gestures as a means of communication with persons inside or outside the vehicle. In some embodiments, the active suspensions system may be used to generate haptic warnings to a vehicle operator or other persons in response to certain road situations.

  • Patent number: 7497948
Abstract: A system and method to treat a site includes oxygenating or ozonating the site, adding nutrients, and maintaining a low bio-chemical-oxygen-demand-to-total-kjeldahl-nitrogen (BOD5:TKN) ratio. Furthermore, the system and method maintain conditions effective to permit aerobic biological deamination of organic-nitrogen compounds and nitrification of ammonia-nitrogen compounds.

  • Patent number: 6083091
Abstract: A machine for continuously advancing sandpaper on a palm sander has a rear clamp bracket for holding a roll of sandpaper substantially longer than the sanding surface of the palm sander and stabilizing one end of a section of the sandpaper and a front clamp bracket for securing the opposite end of a section of the sandpaper. The machine also has a means for attaching the front and rear clamp brackets to an existing palm sander. The front clamp bracket also comprises a cut-off bracket to separate used sandpaper.

  • Patent number: 5046579
Abstract: A wheel mounting apparatus includes a frame attached to an axle suspension of a vehicle. A riser extends downward from the frame. A universal joint attaches to an existing wheel hub of the vehicle. An axle extension extends from the universal joint. The axle extension is journaled in the frame. Journaled in the riser is a short axle. A drive means transfers torque between the axle extension and the short axle. A second wheel hub attaches to the short axle. A truck tire attaches to the second wheel hub. The wheel mounting apparatus, which must be used in sets of four, can be attached without any modification to the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4313111
Abstract: A nozzle condition monitor for detecting the adequacy of the flow through a fertilizer application nozzle. The monitor comprises a nonmagnetic housing having an up-right passage. Within the passage, a magnetic piston is arranged as the flow may take place along the sides of the piston. Stoppers are arranged to restrict travel of the piston. A magnetic switch is arranged near one end of the up-right passage to be closed when the piston is moved against the stop at that end. Means for detecting the condition of the magnetic switch generate a signal indicative of the adequacy of the flow through the nozzle and therefore the condition of the nozzle.
