Patent number: 6145883Abstract: A filing system based on an alpha numeric system in which the numeric portion is based upon birth dates and the alphabetic portion on the names of the individuals within the filing system. A label has color coded areas thereon corresponding to the birth date of an individual, and a color coded label designating the initial of the last name of the individual. A second label bears the individual name. The labels are placed upon a file folder which is then placed into a filing system broken into main sets and subsets. The main sets are arranged chronologically according to the date, while the subsets within each set are arranged alphabetically as a function of the individual's surname.Type: GrantFiled: November 9, 1995Date of Patent: November 14, 2000Assignee: Jeter Systems CorporationInventor: Jack W. Patent number: 6056377Abstract: A dual-slant file holder for angularly directing file folders in two directions. The dual-slant file holder has a front face, a base for carrying a slanted support surface and a pair of parallel side panels, wherein the angle between the slanted support surface and the base is between 5.degree. and 40.degree., and wherein the angle between the pair of parallel side panels and the front face is between 5.degree. and 40.degree.. By holding a file folder within the dual-slant file holder any marking indicia disposed on the file folder is easily visualized by a clerk and can be easily removed and reinserted.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 1995Date of Patent: May 2, 2000Assignee: Jeter Systems CorporationInventor: Jack W. Patent number: 5797665Abstract: A file holder for holding a plurality of file folders, wherein a support surface and a plurality of perpendicularly extending side panels have a hemmed support edge and a hemmed panel edges, respectively. The hemmed support edge and the hemmed panel edges provide structural strength to the file holder while providing a file opening which has increased space for the easy insertion and extraction of file folder and a file holder with relatively smooth surfaces that do not catch or tear the file folders. The file holder also has a plurality of dividers which are secured to the support surface and a back wall and which provide additional structural support when a file holder is stacked on another file holder or other shelving. The file holders are constructed with attachment holes and nesting members so that multiple file holders can be stacked on one another. The support surface may also include a file retainer that is substantially perpendicular to the front edge of the file folder.Type: GrantFiled: January 8, 1997Date of Patent: August 25, 1998Assignee: Jeter Systems CorporationInventor: Jack W. Patent number: 5624166Abstract: Mobile storage cabinets which are "slide-by" cabinets, that is, the cabinets ride on a carriage in a longitudinal direction on a cabinet track to allow access to the contents of a posterior cabinet. The top surface of the posterior cabinet includes an anti-tip track which is substantially parallel to the cabinet track. The anti-tip track has a cylindrical groove with a longitudinally extending top opening which forms a slot. A football-shaped is captured in the groove to form a journaled follower which optionally includes roller bearing surfaces, vertical link extends through the slot and is joined at a fixed angle to a horizontal link which is pivotally joined to a bracket member attached to the back surface of a front cabinet. The bracket extends beyond the top of the cabinet. If multiple rows of cabinets are used, the anti-tip assemblies for the cabinets of each row are stepped so that they clear the top of posterior cabinets.Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 1995Date of Patent: April 29, 1997Inventors: Randall R. Patent number: 5197764Abstract: An alphanumeric color-coded filing system comprising a plurality of coded labels of different sizes having visually-perceptible characteristics corresponding the specific alphanumeric information and a folder having a front and back cover. The back cover has a unitary flap extending substantially the entire length thereof outwardly of the corresponding edge of the front cover, and the flap has a unitary tab extending outwardly therefrom along a portion of its length. The flap including the tab is marked with a plurality of placement guides corresponding in size to the front section of the labels. The placement guides on the tab are all the same size for guiding placement of labels of the same size. The tab defines a location for the placement of primary information, while the remaining portions of the flap defines locations for the placement of supplemental information.Type: GrantFiled: July 11, 1991Date of Patent: March 30, 1993Assignee: The Reynolds and Reynolds CompanyInventors: Joseph S. Patent number: 4520055Abstract: The invention comprises a novel design for a label which can be applied to the edge of a folder, card, or other substrate. A paper face stock secured to a flexible film coating and having a pressure sensitive adhesive is provided with a plurality of cuts in parallel array. The cuts allow the label to be applied to a substrate having a substantial thickness without resulting in the wrinkling which would normally occur absent the cuts. A process for cutting the face stock consists of the use of a cutting disk having a plurality of edges. Substrates having a variety of thicknesses can be accommodated.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 1983Date of Patent: May 28, 1985Assignee: Jeter Systems CorporationInventor: Jack W. Jeter
