  • Publication number: 20240109585
Abstract: Systems and techniques for determining a sideslip vector for a vehicle that may have a direction that is different from that of a heading vector for the vehicle. The sideslip vector in a current vehicle state and sideslip vectors in predicted vehicles states may be used to determine paths for a vehicle through an environment and trajectories for controlling the vehicle through the environment. The sideslip vector may be based on a vehicle position that is the center point of the wheelbase of the vehicle and may include lateral velocity, facilitating the control of four-wheel steered vehicle while maintaining the ability to control two-wheel steered vehicles.

  • Patent number: 10280053
Abstract: A heavy duty hydraulic positioner has headstock and tailstock carriages to support large and heavy work pieces to be processed in a manufacturing operation, such as robotic welding. Each carriage is independently movable along a column, and has a hard stop associated with each pre-program workpiece position, thereby providing accurate repeatability. Repeatability is further enhanced by linear, noncontact absolute encoders for the elevation axes of the headstock and tailstock, and rotary, noncontact absolute encoders for the rotary axes of the headstock and tailstock.

  • Publication number: 20170296084
Abstract: A basket style electrical mapping catheter includes an elongated body with a proximal end and a distal end, where the proximal end has a user interface for controlling a basket-shaped electrode assembly that extends from the distal end of the elongated body. The basket-shaped electrode assembly includes a plurality of flexible splines supporting measurement electrodes configured to contact an electrically active substrate, and an expander spline disposed along a central axis of the basket-shaped catheter assembly supported a reference electrode. The orientation of the measurement electrodes relative to the reference electrode allows for electrical mapping to be conducted with greater sensitivity and specificity in order to more accurately detected diseased or damaged substrate.

  • Patent number: 9366501
Abstract: Disclosed is a safety device that maintains a weapon inside a holster in a locked state without requiring the gun to be removed from the holster beforehand. In the embodiments, a single safety device can be used on a variety of holsters to lock the gun inside the holster, without requiring removal of the gun from the holster, therefore preventing children or other unauthorized individuals from accessing the gun and the gun's trigger.

  • Patent number: 9292671
Abstract: Secret values used in a multi-server authentication scheme are updated. Information is authenticated in a system comprising a plurality of processing devices each adaptable for communication with one or more other devices. The information is authenticated by generating at least first and second shares of a first password associated with a first device (such as a client device); storing the first and second shares in respective second and third devices of the plurality of devices; updating the first and second shares using a personalized proactivization value; assigning a version number to the updated first and second shares; and upon submission of additional information associated with the first device to at least one of the second and third devices, the second and third devices utilizing the respective updated first and second shares for a given version number to collectively determine a correspondence of the additional information with the first password.

  • Publication number: 20090021357
Abstract: A wireless keyless entry system can lock, unlock automotive doors, trunks, etc. without the use of an ignition key and can disarm an onboard anti-theft alarm system or in the alterative can trigger the alarm as a deterrent. The novelty of this invention relates to the fact that the owner of the vehicle is unaware of an alarm state triggered at the vehicle if the owner is out of eye sight and or ‘ear shot’ of the vehicle. The new wireless and keyless entry system would include an RF transmitter in the vehicle that would transmit a unique code when the vehicle is in an alarm state. The unique signal would be received by a portable receiver/controller carried by the owner/operator of the vehicle, triggering a visible light; an audible alarm, pulsing or steady; and/or a vibrator alerting the owner to investigate the automotive alarm emanating from the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20040204204
Abstract: A communication apparatus includes a telephone handset providing a display panel and a set of operating keys, the operating keys providing operating indicia, the panel and keys positioned on a telephone face plate. It also includes a handset case or cover providing a case face plate; and with the telephone handset positioned within the handset case or cover, a raised magnifying element of the case face plate positioned over the display panel in position for magnifying information displayed thereon. A membrane element of the case face plate is positioned over the operating keys, and provides enlarged indicia corresponding positionally with the operating indicia of the operating keys. The membrane element flexibility enables tactile location of each of the operating keys from an outfacing surface of the membrane element.
