Publication number: 20230085962Abstract: The invention provides a method wherein single layers of a wall element, consist of two (or more) strands. One of the strands is located at one side of the layer and another one of the strands is arranged at the other side of the layer. However, at one or more positions these sides may be changed. In this way, e.g. color, reflectivity, transmissivity, and or other optical properties may be controlled. Further, a strong(er) layer may be obtained. Printing becomes more flexible, as the two strands may essentially be printed continuously. There will thus be change positions within the layer where one strand is over the other, or vice versa. In order not to increase layer thickness (at those change positions), as all strands are within the same layer, at the change positions the layer thickness of the strands may be decreased. In specific embodiments, there may be a temporary stop during printing of one of the strands at the change position to provide space for the future strand.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 1, 2021Publication date: March 23, 2023Inventors: JACOBUS PETRUS JOHANNES VAN OS, RIFAT ATA MUSTAFA HIKMET

Publication number: 20180376558Abstract: The invention provides a lighting unit, comprising a light source and a light sensor arrangement. An optical feedback path is provided from the light source (or another light source in the same overall system) to the light sensor arrangement. The light source is turned on in response to an external input and is maintained on as a result of the optical feedback path. This lighting unit can be turned on using an signal such as an optical signal which is received from an external source, and then maintained on using optical feedback from the light source itself. This makes it possible to control a lighting unit area such as a wall using an external device such as a torch or laser pointer, without the need for complex electronic protocols.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 24, 2016Publication date: December 27, 2018Inventors: FRANK VERBAKEL, JACOBUS PETRUS JOHANNES VAN OS, MARC ANDRE DE SAMBER

Patent number: 10085329Abstract: A lighting device (100) is provided comprising optically transmissive emitters and receivers. The receivers are configured to receive power via an optical signal transmitted from a light source (102). Furthermore, the receiver is provided with functionality for converting the optical signal to electrical power and supply an emitter with the electrical power. The optical signal may further comprise an address such that a receiver-emitter pair of the device may be wirelessly individually addressed and controlled. The optical signals of the device are not guided but are free to propagate through optically transmissive receivers, optically transmissive emitters or other optically transmissive materials of the lighting device. This enables a lighting device which provides new light effects in a simple manner.Type: GrantFiled: September 25, 2015Date of Patent: September 25, 2018Assignee: PHILIPS LIGHTING HOLDING B.V.Inventors: Marc Andre De Samber, Frank Verbakel, Jacobus Petrus Johannes Van Os
