  • Patent number: 7700147
Abstract: Biomimetic artificial prostheses which are made from polyester, such as polyethylene terephthalate, and a method for the biomimetic functionalization of such prostheses. The method includes a step involving the grafting of biologically-active polymers or copolymers to the polyester surface of the prostheses, the grafting step consisting of the peroxidation of the surface by ozonation followed by a step including the radical polymerization of a solution of at least one monomer. The method also includes an optional step consisting in impregnating the prostheses with type I and/or II collagen and/or fibronectins. The prostheses thus obtained enable a normal and uniform regrowth of the fibroblasts, thereby significantly improving the biological integration of such polyester prostheses.

  • Patent number: 7494506
Abstract: Method for production of a prosthetic ligament (1), for the replacement of a natural joint ligament, having a global cylindrical form and including a medial intra-articular section (3) between two intra-osseous end parts (2). The method includes a step of the rolling or folding on itself of a web of synthetic polymer fibers, followed by a step of installation of a traction thread (5) to each of the ends (4) of the ligament (1), then a step of placing a tip (6) on the ends (5), characterized in that the placing of the tip (6) includes producing a radial ligature (60) of the ligament (1) provided with the traction threads (5), by of a ligature thread (7).

  • Patent number: 5662655
Abstract: Osteosynthesis plate-staple for osteotomy, including symmetrical or asymmetrical side legs having sharpened free ends, and being joined by a cross member. The legs are substantially mutually longitudinal divergent in the direction of their free ends so that the ends are urged away from one another when the staple is implanted, whereby bone fragments on either side of the fracture line are resiliently compressed. Further, asymmetrical side legs have different shapes depending upon whether they are to be inserted into the metaphyseal portion of the bone, or implanted in the cortical bone.

  • Patent number: 5324296
Abstract: Surgical ancillary instrument for aiming and drilling of femoral and tibial insertion tunnels of at least one bundle of neo-ligaments for the reconstruction of the anterior opposite ligament of the knee. The instrument includes a handle equipped at one of its ends with a straight rod finishing in a hook perpendicular to the rod serving as a reference for at least one aimer barrel having in relation to the rod predetermined horizontal and vertical directions so as to obtain an alignment of the drilling directions of the tibial and femoral insertion tunnels when the knee is in extension.

  • Patent number: 5116372
Abstract: This invetions concerns a prosthetic ligament which consists of a core (1) constituted from adjacent longitudinal synthetic fibres, which are coated with a biocompatible visco-elastic substance, such as a biocompatible elastomer resin, in the inter-articulate part of the ligament, in such a way as to leave free and uncoated the parts at the opposite extremities of the core.In order to improve the mechanical qualities of the ligament and make them resemble as closely as possible those of a biological ligament, the fibres of the core are inter-twined before coating with resin and kept intertwined by this coating.

  • Patent number: 4899745
Abstract: This invention relates to a surgical clip for cutaneous suture, wherein it successively comprises, starting from the centre of the clip and on each side of the plane of symmetry of the clip, a rectilinear branch, a first bend with concavity facing the skin into which the clip must be engaged, a second intermediate bend with convexity facing the skin and a third bend with concavity facing the skin, this third bend extending by an end leg terminating in the point of the clip and which is inclined by an angle of about 45.degree. with respect to the general direction of extension of the clip. The invention also relates to a tool for applying said clip.

  • Patent number: 4836298
Abstract: A boat of the catamaran type, which is mechanically propelled, preferably by means of an outboard motor comprises two floasts, which are advantageously identical, coplanar and parallel, and a seat of the motor which are maintained rigidly together. Two transverse bars are disposed, perpendicularly to the axis of the floats, and central longitudinal member extending longitudinally between the two floats to connect the two transverse bars, at their center. Two lateral bows are fast with the seat and extend on either side thereof, up to the front transverse bar lower and upper fairings completing the boat by constituting a place to sit and for control.
