Patent number: 11993719Abstract: A composite includes a plastic substrate and an electrical insulator layer formed on the plastic substrate. The electrical insulator layer contains boron nitride nanotubes (BNNTs), which may be unmodified or modified BNNTS. The composite is suitable for use in making printed electronic devices. A process includes providing a plastic substrate and forming on at least a portion of a surface of the plastic substrate a layer that contains the BNNTs. A metallic ink trace is formed on a portion of the layer, such that the metallic ink trace is spaced-apart from the substrate. Using photonic or thermal sintering techniques, the metallic ink trace is then sintered.Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 2018Date of Patent: May 28, 2024Assignee: National Research Council of CanadaInventors: Chantal Paquet, Jacques Lefebvre, Jingwen Guan, Patrick Roland Lucien Malenfant, Benoit Simard, Yadienka Martinez-Rubi, Arnold Kell, Xiangyang Liu

Patent number: 9965841Abstract: A method of monitoring equipment data of a piece of equipment includes extracting data specifications from a first image, the first image including data specification information for the piece of equipment, and storing the data specifications. The method further includes extracting measurement data from at least one second image, the at least one second image including measurement information for the piece of equipment. The method further includes associating the measurement data with the piece of equipment and storing the measurement data. The method further includes generating a measurement data trend profile for the piece of equipment and comparing operational measurement data against the measurement data trend profile. The method further includes notifying one or more users when the operational measurement data associated with the piece of equipment deviates from the measurement data trend profile.Type: GrantFiled: February 29, 2016Date of Patent: May 8, 2018Assignee: SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC USA, INC.Inventors: John C. Van Gorp, Jacques Roland van Campen

Patent number: 5724432Abstract: An active double wall comprises two parallel plates defining a rectangular space. Four sensors are positioned between the plates so as to detect noises in said space, and four actuators are placed between the plates to emit counter-noises in the space. The actuators are phase-controlled by a control unit in order to minimize the sum of the outputs of the sensors. The actuators are respectively positioned at the centers of the sides of the rectangular space, and the sensors are respectively positioned at the centers of the sides of a rhombus whose vertices are the respective centers of the sides of the rectangular space, or vice-versa.Type: GrantFiled: February 15, 1996Date of Patent: March 3, 1998Assignee: Centre Scientifigue et Technique du BatimentInventors: Pascal Bouvet, Jacques Roland, Laurent Gagliardini
