  • Publication number: 20230392413
Abstract: An example trim generally includes an escutcheon, an indicator plate, a cam, and a backplate. The indicator plate is movably mounted in the escutcheon, and has a first position in which a first indicium is aligned with an escutcheon window of the escutcheon, and a second position in which a second indicium is aligned with the escutcheon window. The cam is rotatably mounted in the escutcheon for rotation between a first handing orientation and a second handing orientation. The cam is operable to move the indicator plate between the first position and the second position when the cam is in each of the handing orientations. The backplate is coupled to the escutcheon and at least partially encloses the indicator plate within the escutcheon. The cam is operable to rotate between the first handing orientation and the second handing orientation while the backplate remains coupled to the escutcheon.

  • Publication number: 20150171723
Abstract: An actuator apparatus includes a magnet housing defining an interior volume between a first opening at a first end and a second opening at a second end. Multiple magnets are included within the magnet housing. A piston assembly includes a piston housing, a coil and a shaft. A magnetic pole is configured to be received through the second opening of the magnet housing and within the interior volume. The magnetic pole defines an interior lumen and an opening in communication with the interior lumen. At least a portion of the piston assembly is configured to be movably received through the first opening of the magnet housing and within the interior volume such that the magnetic pole is received within the interior region of the piston housing and at least a portion of the shaft is received within the interior lumen of the magnetic pole.

  • Publication number: 20100133924
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and apparatus for a guided single-phase or multi-phase linear motor actuator with a snap-together design. Some embodiments include the ability to monitor and/or adjust work being done, yet with a cost that is comparable to that of cams or pneumatic devices. In one embodiment, a coil is attached to a bobbin assembly that is secured behind a piston. To prevent rotation of the piston during operation, a spline bearing may be slidably fitted onto one or more grooves of a spline shaft disposed within the piston assembly. One or more cylindrical magnets surrounding the coil actuate the piston based upon the direction that current is traveling through the coil. Since the electromotive force generated is linear with respect to the spline shaft, unwanted lateral force acting upon the spline shaft can be reduced and/or eliminated.

  • Patent number: 5839758
Abstract: A collapsible roll-over protection system is provided with an upper section pivotally connected to a fixed lower section by a four-bar linkage. The linkage permits the upper section to be pivotally rotated rearwardly of the lower section and lowered to an inoperative position adjacent to and immediately behind the lower section. The pivot linkage includes an apertured tab that registers with a locking opening on the lower section to fix the upper section in the inoperative position. The engagement surfaces of the upper and lower sections is slanted with respect to the axis of the legs of the upper and lower sections to facilitate the movement of the upper section between the operative and inoperative positions. A locking pin fixes the structure in both the positions to prevent loose parts whenever the structure is moved between positions.
