  • Patent number: 7785289
Abstract: A catheter may include an elongate member and a distal end therapy-providing portion attached at a distal portion of the elongate member. The elongate member may have an outer generally tubular structure having, firstly, an inner tube structure of rigid material having a circumferential cut through at least a portion of a longitudinal length of the inner tube structure to allow bending of the circumferentially-cut portion of the inner tube structure while maintaining a substantially uniform cross-sectional area and shape at a point of bending, and secondly, a separate outer tube that surrounds and is spaced apart from at least the circumferentially-cut portion of the inner tube structure. The circumferential cut may be a helical cut having a pitch that may vary over the portion of the longitudinal length. An inner diameter of the outer tube may be approximately 0.003? greater than an outer diameter of the inner tube.

  • Patent number: 6530852
Abstract: A structure for a sport bat utilizing a shell having an elongated shape along a certain dimension. The shell includes a gripping surface for the user and a contact surface for propelling a ball or similar object of play. The shell further possesses a wall which forms a chamber. A first member contacts the first end portion of the elongated shell, while a second member contacts the second end portion of the elongated shell. A connector links the first and second members to one another within the chamber. A tensioning device adjusts the tension on the connector and generates a pressure on the shell at its wall along the axis or dimension of elongation of the shell.

  • Patent number: 6257422
Abstract: An article holder utilizing a backing member a first portion is movable relative to the backing member. The first portion and the backing member form a cavity. A first hinge interconnects the first portion to the backing member. The first hinge biases the movement of the first portion toward the backing member in a spring-like fashion. The second portion is movable relative to the first portion and extends into the cavity. A second hinge interconnects the second portion to the first portion, biasing movement of the second portion toward the backing member. An article is held between the second portion and the backing member in this manner.

  • Patent number: 4043126
Abstract: An engine for driving an automotive vehicle has a plurality of turbine rotors mounted on the main drive shaft. Compressed air is supplied to the rotors in succession from a distributing valve which is supplied with compressed air from a main air tank, and compressed air at reduced pressure from the delivery side of each rotor is supplied to a manifold which also supplies the main air tank through a second stage compressor.
