  • Publication number: 20220161456
Abstract: A synergistic wood preservation composition comprising a polymeric betaine and 3-iodo-2-propynyl butyl carbamate (IPBC). Also, a method of controlling microorganisms that produce mold and/or sapstain on wood or wood products or wood coating solutions by applying to a wood or wood product or wood coating solutions the synergistic wood preservation composition to control the microorganisms.

  • Publication number: 20220145092
Abstract: A preservative composition comprising an isothiazolinone, such as 1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one, and a polyethertriamine in a synergistic combination. The polyethertriamine enhances the antimicrobial activity of the isothiazolinone, achieving the desired antimicrobial activity at synergistically lower concentrations than with the isothiazolinone in the absence of the polyethertriamine. Also, methods of using the preservative compositions to provide wet-state preservation of industrial materials including paints, coatings, and metal working fluids.

  • Publication number: 20190373892
Abstract: Formaldehyde-free preservative blends of 1,2-benzisothiazol-3(2H)-one (“BIT”) and certain dithiocarbamates inhibit microbial degradation of products that include ingredients which are naturally susceptible to, or have been previously exposed to, microbial contamination. This combination is effective in materials such as mineral slurries, pulp and paper slurries, wallboard joint compounds, mastics and asphalt emulsions. Also, methods for inhibiting the growth of microbes during storage of these materials without the use of formaldehyde or formaldehyde-releasing products.
