  • Patent number: 4983096
Abstract: A device for stacking sheets, especially sheets of cardboard, comprising a mechanism that continuously supplies the sheets to a stacking platform that can be lowered, an auxiliary stacking platform that can be advanced into the stacking area, and a ream-demarcating mechanism for inserting ream-demarcation strips between the rear edges of the sheets while they are being laid off. The auxiliary stacking platform (13) cannot move up and down. The outlet end (18) of the ream-demarcating mechanism (15) can be moved vertically between the sheet-supply mechanism (3) and the auxiliary stacking platform.

  • Patent number: 4949953
Abstract: A device for stacking sheets, especially sheets of paper that arrive overlapped. The device has a layoff platform that can be raised and lowered, a separating mechanism that is positioned behind the stack, that can be raised and lowered, and that can be introduced into the vicinity of the top of the stack, especially between the uppermost sheet and the incoming stream of overlapping sheets, two compression jaws that are positioned at different heights at the rear of the stack, that can be raised and lowered, and that can be inserted into gaps created by the separating mechanism, and an auxiliary stacking platform that is positioned at the rear of the stack, that can be raised and lowered, and that can be introduced into the vicinity of the layoff platform immediately below the lower compression jaw. The object is to provide a device that is of particular advantage with respect to design.

  • Patent number: 4799847
Abstract: The invention relates to a sheet stacker for sheets in particular of thin material, such as paper. In order to be able to change the stack without reducing the conveying speed of the sheets conveyed in an overlapping manner and without wasting sheets, free spacers 18 are provided on the underside of the table plate 7 of the transfer table 3 between the conveyor belts 8 for its guide and conveying rollers 10-14 and its bearing blocks 16, which free spacers receive the bars 19 of a bar screen. The bars 19 of the bar screen are arranged above the upper level of the stack 46 and may be inserted in the open gusset between the sheets 1 conveyed in an overlapping manner an the stack 46. Additional separators, which only facilitate an insertion of the bars 19, are no longer necessary.

  • Patent number: 4770406
Abstract: The invention relates to a sheet stacking device on paper cross-cutting machines, consisting of a sheet supply and stacker device. A stacking device of this type comprises elements which retard the paper sheets supplied from a supply speed to zero and thus guide the sheets so that after being laid down they form a stack having a straight edge. The auxiliary elements required for the direct formation of the stack form the sheet stop board (8) and lateral guide plates (12, 13). In the case of a change of format, which generally necessitates a displacement of the sheet stop board (8) in the direction in which the sheets are supplied and of the lateral guide plates (12, 13) at right angles to the direction in which the sheets are supplied, in the case of an automatic format adjustment for the sheet stacking device, an exchange of the format-dependent lateral guide plates (12, 13) is no longer required.

  • Patent number: 4704930
Abstract: In a double longitudinal cutter, a suction device (18) is provided for removing edge strips produced at the time of longitudinal cutting, which is located in the region of the double longitudinal cutter arranged between an upper web and a lower web and is provided with bent suction nozzles (19,20,21,22,23,24) by which the edge strips can be removed by suction after being guided over the lower cutter of the pairs of circular cutters provided for longitudinal cutting. The suction above the lower cutters (11,12) allows a removal of the edge strips in the narrowest space, while maintaining satisfactory quality of the longitudinal cut.

  • Patent number: 4658685
Abstract: A device for longitudinally cutting web material, especially paper and cardboard webs with at least one rotating circular knife pair consisting of a freely rotating point knife that enters the material during the cutting process and a pot knife that rests on a power-rotated hub element. To reliably preserve, with simple means, an initial basic or zero adjustment subsequent to regrinding or replacement of the pot knife, the cutting surface of the pot knife rests axially against a contact surface that is stationary in relation to the hub element.

  • Patent number: 4368837
Abstract: In a web feed section comprising a bottom feed roll, a top feed roll, and actuator means for adjusting the contact pressure between said rolls, the improvement wherein the actuator means includes a compression spring operatively connected with the top roll through a lever to transmit its force to the top roll, a disk cam for adjusting the initial stress in the spring, and levers for uncoupling the spring from the top roll when a roll is to be replaced.

  • Patent number: 4294145
Abstract: A machine for the crosscutting of a multi-ply web includes a crosscutter, a guide preceding the crosscutter in the direction of web travel and a feed section disposed between the web guide and the crosscutter preceding the web to the crosscutter which includes a pair of rolls. Differences in sheet lengths of the various plies cut by the crosscutter is compensated by mounting the web guide for pivotable movement as a unit about the axis of one of the two rolls of the feed section and for fixing the web guide in a selected position in the path of motion thereof.
