  • Patent number: 5884469
Abstract: Along a row of spindles of a ring-spinning machine, an underwind-residue remover is displaceable by a belt whose belt stretches are horizontal and lie one above the other over the length of the machine. The underwined-residue remover has a shank guided along a rib at a track for the remover alongside a row of spindles and the track has a foot extending horizontally from the rib and overlain by the stretches of the belt. The stretches of the belt have loops connecting them at opposite ends and a roller arrangement about which the respective loop passes.

  • Patent number: 5581989
Abstract: A spinning-machine spindle rotatable about an axis has an upper cop-holding region and a lower nonsmooth reserve surface. The reserve surface is formed as a substantially uniform array of tiny pits separated by a raised continuous land extending as a continuous grid over the surface. Normally the pits are of pyramidal shape and the land lies substantially on a surface of revolution centered on the axis.

  • Patent number: 5562268
Abstract: Frustoconical portions of a blade blank are ground only along their external periphery so that the grounds are cylindrical. The frustoconical portion form openings as well as of 20.degree. to 30.degree. with the generatrix of the cylinder. The blades can be ground a number at a time in the form of a stack with the disk portion. The resulting blades are mounted on the spindles of a ring spinning or ring twisting machine to cut the threads to turn the last thread on spool or bobbin and lower turns on a collecting region of the respective spindle.

  • Patent number: 5507140
Abstract: A four-part spindle brake has a support body and cover insertable through an opening in a wall of a spindle rail of a spinning machine and receiving between them a brake body whose two levers are joined centrally by film hinges and are formed as outwardly and downwardly-extending pins received in bearing bosses of the cover and the support body. An actuating plate suspended by horizontal pivot pins on the support body has a spreader engageable between the levers for causing the jaws of the brake body to close upon the spindle.

  • Patent number: 5479770
Abstract: The instant invention is a reserve-surface cleaner used on a longitudinally extending row of spindles rotatable about respective parallel axes lying in a common longitudinal plane and each having an upper package-forming region, a lower reserve surface, and a contact surface centered on the axis. The cleaning apparatus has a carriage displaceable longitudinally along the row parallel to the plane past the spindles, a blade mounted on the carriage and having an edge juxtaposable with each of the reserve surfaces as the carriage moves along the row, and a spacer mounted on the carriage, fixed thereon relative to the blade, and engageable with the contact surfaces of the spindles as the carriage moves along the row. A spring urges the spacer and blade transversely of the plane toward the spindles so that as the spacer wears a transverse spacing between the blade and the reserve surfaces decreases.

  • Patent number: 5319917
Abstract: A reserve-surface cleaning apparatus is used in combination with a ring-spinning machine having a longitudinally extending row of spindles each adapted to hold a roving sleeve and each formed below the respective sleeve with a respective reserve winding area and a longitudinally extending frame extending along a back side of the row and a service area extending along a front side of the row. The cleaning system has a guide rail extending on the frame longitudinally along the back side of the row of spindles, a cleaner carriage displaceable longitudinally along the rail past the spindles, and a drive for displacing the cleaner carriage longitudinally along the rail past the spindles. A set of tools on the cleaner carriage strips roving from the reserve surfaces as the cleaner carriage passes same.

  • Patent number: 4922580
Abstract: A sliver guide conduit extending between the output and calendar rollers of a draw frame or like spinning preparation machine is of a bipartite construction having an upstream conduit section extending into the interior area of a downstream conduit section, with an air conduit opening tangentially into the interior of the downstream conduit section annularly about the upstream section for admitting an airstream to assist in drawing a sliver through the sliver guide conduit during machine start-up.

  • Patent number: 4879872
Abstract: An apparatus for positioning aligned, elongate segments of a ring rail of a textile machine relative to vertically movable ring rail supports includes a centering bore and projection, a lateral guide bore and projection and a longitudinal guide bore and projection. The bores are selectively formed on the vertically movable ring rail supports and the ring rail segments and the projections are correspondingly formed on the other of the ring rail supports and the ring rail segments. The lateral guide bore and projection accommodates variations in the lateral extent of the ring rail segment and the longitudinal guide bore and projection accommodates variations in the longitudinal extent of the ring rail segment so that the ring rail segment is maintained at a predetermined position with respect to the spindles serviced by its associated rings while variations in its longitudinal and lateral extents which may occur due to temperature changes or the like are automatically acccommodated.

  • Patent number: 4763387
Abstract: The fiber strip feed device provided with a fiber strip feed duct between the entrance rolls and the calendering rolls in a spinning machine, particularly in a set of drafting rolls of the spinning machine, has a tangential housing air duct opening into the fiber strip feed duct which is cylindrical. A fiber strip funnel is located downstream of the feed duct toward whose constricted inner space a high pressure pipe is directed whose working direction crosses the axis of the fiber strip funnel for fiber strip feed.

  • Patent number: 4525897
Abstract: A filament drawing apparatus has a support, at least two pairs of rollers spaced apart on the support in a travel direction so that a filament to be drawn passes in the direction between the rollers of both pairs, and a drive having at least two output shafts and including a transmission for rotating the shafts at different speeds. One of the shafts is connected to one of the roller pairs and the other roller pair is displaceable on the support in the travel direction relative to the one roller pair. An input gear is mounted on the other output shaft and an output gear is mounted on one of the rollers of the other roller pair and is displaceable therewith in the direction. An input link has one end pivoted at the other output shaft and an opposite end and an output link has one end pivoted at the one roller of the other roller pair and has an opposite end pivoted on the opposite end of the input link. An intermediate gear pivoted on the opposite ends meshes with and interconnects the input and output gears.
