Abstract: A method, implemented by a computer-implemented authentication system, for authenticating a user attempting to access a target component of a computer system, the method comprising: a) receiving, from a first user system via a computer network, user authentication information and a network address identifying the first user system within the computer network; b) obtaining at least one data item of contextual information indicative of a property of an environment of a wireless communications device associated with the user authentication information; c) authenticating the user based on at least the user authentication information; and d) subject to successful authentication, granting access to the target component and storing a data record comprising the received network address and the received contextual information.

Abstract: A method for writing data to memory includes the steps of receiving a stream of data objects. Next, the grouped data objects are grouped according to a sorting rule, wherein the sorting rule provides for grouping the data objects based on at least one of a predetermined size threshold and predetermined time threshold. Then, the grouped data objects are separated into corresponding data blocks based on the sorting rule. Finally, the grouped data blocks are written into corresponding, non-fragmented memory locations, wherein the memory locations include data blocks of substantially equal size.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a processor capable of executing instructions. A memory is coupled to the processor. The memory includes instructions that when executed by the processor, causes the processor to receive a data object to be stored in memory. Next, the processor generates a hash value of at least a portion of the data object to be stored. The processor then assigns the hash value of the at least a portion of the data object as the filename of the data object. The data object is then written to an appropriate file in the memory identified by the file name.

Abstract: A system detecting and protecting against identity theft by abusing a computer users ID and password or protecting a user against identity replication through parallel user session via a second authentication level using a second channel, a one-time-passcode and user contextual location information. When accessing networks, computer systems or programs, the said networks, computer systems or programs will validate user ID and password and collect contextual information about the user, the device, the used network etc. Once validated, a message is send by a second means that may be a cell phone SMS network or an instant message, said message containing a real-time session-specific one-time passcode. The session specific code and the collected information provides information enabling the user to detect a compromised identity through a mismatch between presented information and the information representing the user and the passcode protects against fraudulent access.
