  • Patent number: 10656295
Abstract: A method for generating one or more subsurface stress models. The method may include receiving seismic data. A plurality of first geomechanical property models may be generated based at least partially on the seismic data. A second geomechanical property model may be generated based at least partially on the seismic data. The second geomechanical property model may have a lower resolution than the first geomechanical property models. A stress model, a strain model, or a combination thereof may be generated based on the second geomechanical property model. One or more subsurface stress models may be generated based on the stress model, the strain model, or the combination thereof and the first geomechanical property models.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 17, 2014
Date of Patent: May 19, 2020
    Assignee: Schlumberger Technology Corporation
Inventors: Adrian Rodriguez-Herrera, Xavier Garcia-Teijeiro, Jorg V. Herwanger, Nikolaos Constantinos Koutsabeloulis, Tone Trudeng, Jalal Khazanehdari
  • Patent number: 9223041
Abstract: A technique includes receiving a first dataset that is indicative of seismic data acquired in a seismic survey of a field of wells and receiving a second dataset that is indicative of wellbore data acquired in a wellbore survey conducted in at least one of the wells. The technique includes determining a mechanical earth model for the field based at least in part on the seismic data and the wellbore data.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 26, 2013
Date of Patent: December 29, 2015
    Assignee: SCHLUBMERGER TECHNOLOGY CORPORATION
Inventors: Anke S. Wendt, Jalal Khazanehdari, Andreas Enggard Rasmussen, Farid Reza Mohamed, Kjetil Westeng, Arne Voskamp, Andrea Murineddu
