  • Patent number: 5904229
Abstract: A brake assembly by means of which rotational motion and also linear motion, i.e. faulty motion of lifting platforms, especially dropping, is braked. The assembly comprises a braking gear (20, 21) fitted onto axle (4), a coupling (25, 26) to transmit rotational motion and furnished with a locking device (27) that releases by an adjusted rate of centrifugal force generated by the rotational motion and locks the coupling to transmit rotational motion between the axle and the locking device. Upon locking, the locking device in the coupling is fitted to transmit rotational motion also in the opposite direction of the direction produced by the locking device in order to open the locking device by turning axle (4) in the opposite direction, and the coupling has a retaining shoulder (50) to prevent the locking device from returning immediately to an unlocked position when the brake is opened by rotating axle (4) in the opposite direction.

  • Patent number: 4662098
Abstract: The known detachable release mechanisms for rifles are not safe as the firearm might go off as the release mechanism is detached from a firearm that is in a cocked state. The release mechanism according to the invention includes a locking stud (8) placed within the frame (1) of the firearm which stud is movable with respect to the casing (3) of the release mechanism so that when the stud is in a locking position it will prevent the movement of the locking bar (4), as the casing is in a position locked to the frame. In addition, the cocking means include a release stem (6) pivoted within the casing and a cocking member (7) pivoted on the frame (1) which cocking member has been arranged to rest on the release stem as the casing is in a position locked to the frame.

  • Patent number: 4571871
Abstract: A fixing means for fixing the barrel (1) of a firearm to the body (2) of the firearm. The object is to provide a fixing means which is simpler and easier to operate, and less expensive, fixing mechanisms of prior art.As taught by the invention, the fixing means comprises a cradle-like, U-shaped fork (5) suspended by its two legs (6) to be borne by the body (2) and on the bottom (7) of which the barrel (1) has been disposed to be borne, and a fixing member (8) arranged to fix the barrel against the bottom of the fork. The fixing member (8) consists to advantage of an eccentric lever, for instance the upper housing of the firearm, and it comprises an eccentric locking member (9) disposed to press the barrel (1) against said bottom of the fork when the lever is turned into the locking position. The eccentric lever is, when desired, pivotally attached to the body with the aid of said axle pin.

  • Patent number: 4569270
Abstract: The invention concerns an automatic, mass-obturated hand firearm comprising a body (1) with handle (2), a barrel (3) joined to the body, a breech block (4) with guide (5) constituted by the body and with cocking and firing mechanism (7), the guide of the breech block ascending rearward so that the rearward path of motion of the breech block deviates upward from the center-line (8) of the barrel. The purpose is to eliminate the problem of automatic hand firearms that during shooting the barrel tends to rise upwards. As taught by the invention, when the breech block (4) is in its forward position its center of gravity (9) is located forward of the handle (2). The breech block (4) is preferably disposed to have its major part forward of the rear end (10) of the barrel (3). Furthermore, the center of gravity (9) of the breech block (4) is preferably located forward of the rear end (10) of the barrel (3).

  • Patent number: 4555973
Abstract: The invention concerns an automatic hand firearm with mass obturation, comprising a body (1) with handle (2), a barrel (3) joined to the body, a slide (4) with guide (5) and return spring (6), a cocking and firing mechanism (7) and an operating handle (8) for cocking the slide. The object is to provide a construction where the slide can be made safe in the forward and, if desired, the rearward position. As taught by the invention, the operating handle (8) is attached to the body (1) with the aid of a slide member (9), said slide member and operating handle being movable in the direction of the barrel and the slide member cooperating with the slide (4) so that the slide can be pulled into the cocked rear position by the operating handle and the slide can be put on safety in the cocked rear position and/or in the uncocked forward position by the aid of the operating handle and of a safety member (10) connected thereto.

  • Patent number: 4454672
Abstract: The invention concerns a lock means comprising a lock bolt (1) and a lock frame (3). The lock bolt comprises a crank (2), a closing shoulder (4) for securing to be held by a mating shoulder (27) on the lock frame, and a striking pin (5) with spring (6), and cocking body (7). The object is to provide a new lock means of which the design makes possible its easy and inexpensive manufacturing and accurate fitting into the lock frame. A further object is to provide a crank lock and lock frame which is reliable in service, accurate and inexpensive. The lock means in characterized in that the lock comprises a guide tube (11) which constitutes the outer cover for the lock bolt (1). The guide tube is rotatable with reference to the lock bolt (1). The shape of the inner surface (12) of the lock frame (3) conforms in its cross section to the guide tube, and the tube cannot be evaded with reference of the lock frame. The guide tube is profitable at least plastic-coated, preferably made mainly of plastic in its entirety.
