  • Patent number: 9344129
Abstract: An apparatus comprises at least one transmit amplifier and rectification circuitry located in the at least one transmit amplifier, which is configured to receive a RF signal and provide a rectified voltage, which is selectably added to a voltage supplied by a battery to generate a DC voltage supply signal that is a function of RF power level. A controller is configured to select between providing the VBAT or the VSupply signal to a transmit switch depending on one or more of a logic state and a mode of operation. An alternate apparatus comprises a charge pump circuit configured to quickly raise a voltage supplied to it and store the output voltage on a capacitor and then either shift a first frequency provided by a charge pump oscillator to a lower second frequency or turn off a charge pump clock to maintain a voltage on the capacitor during a transmit mode.

  • Patent number: 7327125
Abstract: A power supply circuit includes two pass transistors that conduct current from a voltage supply terminal to an output terminal. One of the pass transistors is smaller whereas the other is larger. Current through the smaller transistor is controlled by the voltage control loop such that the voltage on the output terminal is regulated to a predetermined voltage. Current through the larger transistor is controlled by a high gain current control loop such that the current flowing through the larger transistor is a multiple of the current flowing through the smaller pass transistor. By reducing current flow in the smaller transistor, the power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) of the power supply circuit is improved for frequencies up to 100 kHz. Die space occupied by the two pass transistors is reduced in comparison to the amount of pass transistor die space in a conventional power supply circuit of similar performance.

  • Patent number: 7038431
Abstract: A low drop output regulator may be used for power management. The low drop out regulator may include an amplifier network having a transfer function may be used to provide a substantially constant voltage and variable current to a load. A zero compensation network may be used to add a zero to the transfer function that varies with the load current.
