A mediated-reality visualization system includes a head-mounted display assembly comprising a frame configured to be mounted to a user's head and a display device coupled to the frame. An imaging assembly separate and spaced apart from the head-mounted display assembly is configured to capture light-field data. A computing device in communication with the imaging assembly and the display device is configured to receive light-field data from the imaging assembly and render one or more virtual cameras. Images from the one or more virtual cameras are presented to a user via the display device.

    Abstract: Methods of determining the depth of a scene and associated systems are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a method can include augmenting depth data of a scene captured with a depth sensor with depth data from one or more images of the scene. For example, the method can include capturing image data of the scene with a plurality of cameras. The method can further include generating a point cloud representative of the scene based on the depth data from the depth sensor and identifying a missing region of the point cloud, such as a region occluded from the view of the depth sensor. The method can then include generating depth data for the missing region based on the image data. Finally, the depth data for the missing region can be merged with the depth data from the depth sensor to generate a merged point cloud representative of the scene.

Implementations can generate a first predicted location of a landmark based on a pose instance of a pose of the AV and a stored location of the landmark, generate a second predicted location of the landmark relative to the AV based on an instance of LIDAR data, generate a correction instance based on the comparing, and use the correction instance in generating additional pose instance(s). Systems and methods for validating localization of a vehicle are also described herein. Implementations can obtain driving data from a past episode of locomotion of the vehicle, generate a pose-based predicted location of a landmark in an environment of the vehicle, and compare the pose-based predicted location to a stored location of the landmark in the environment of the vehicle to validate a pose instance of a pose of the vehicle.

The valve includes a generally elongate hollow main body having an upper portion, a lower flex hose connector, a side tubular branch having a valve seat with a ball valve, an electronics housing having a battery, motor and a drive pin for the ball valve. The lower flex hose connector is adapted for connection to a flex hose or valve stem of the vehicle tire. The side branch branches from the main body and communicates with the hollow interior of the main body. The side branch has a plurality of air exit apertures at its periphery. The valve seat includes a base with an aperture therein through which the drive pin can extend through to engage the ball valve. The ball valve sits in the base and is biased in the valve seat via a spring to cover the aperture.

In some embodiments, a method includes initially calibrating the imaging system, operating the imaging system during an imaging procedure, and then updating the calibration during the imaging procedure to account for degradation of the initial calibration due to environmental factors, such as heat. The method of updating the calibration can include capturing image data of a rigid body having a known geometry with the sensors and determining that the calibration has drifted for a problematic one of the sensors based on the captured image data. After determining the problematic one of the sensors, the method can include updating the calibration of the problematic one of the sensors based on the captured image data.

By properly configuring the IQ mixer so that the LO and RF inputs are maintained in quadrature at the Q mixer, hence in-phase at the I mixer, lower levels of amplitude modulation may be detected at lower modulation frequencies compatible with optimal choices of resonator coupling and maximal phase to amplitude conversion. With the Q mixer held in quadrature it acts as a broadband phase noise detector. A portion of the Q mixer output is bandpass filtered and summed with the I mixer Pound-server voltage to achieve both center frequency stabilization and broadband phase noise suppression.

    Abstract: Described herein are passive systems and methods for ranging objects. The systems and methods are passive in that they do not rely on transmission of radiation (whether radiofrequency, visible, infrared, ultraviolet, acoustic, etc.) to determine range. The systems and methods described herein may be used both in civilian and military applications. The present techniques allow users to determine range to moving targets, which is notoriously difficult to estimate using the human eye. The present techniques perform ranging to a target using artificial intelligence models, including object segmentation and pose estimation. Object segmentation may involve determining a dimension (e.g., height) of a specified target in an image, in terms of pixels. If there are multiple objects in the scene, range estimates may be calculated using object segmentation for each object. Pose estimation involves a machine learning technique that identifies sets of coordinates corresponding to joint keypoints.
