  • Publication number: 20160193383
Abstract: In some aspects, the present disclosure pertains to tissue bulking compositions that comprise: (a) solid particles comprising a pH-sensitive polymer that has a pH-dependent solubility such that the solid particles dissolve upon an increase or decrease in pH, (b) a crosslinking agent for the pH-sensitive polymer and (c) a pH modifying agent that generates acid or base in vivo, wherein when the tissue bulking composition comprises solid particles that dissolve upon a decrease in pH, the pH modifying agent generates acid in vivo and wherein when the tissue bulking composition comprises solid particles that dissolve upon an increase in pH, the pH modifying agent generates base in vivo. Other aspects of the present disclosure pertain to kits that comprise such compositions, to methods of forming injectable dispersions that comprise such compositions and to methods of treatment comprising injecting injectable dispersions that comprise such compositions into a subject.

  • Publication number: 20160120729
Abstract: A compression device to be applied to an appendage, including a generally non-stretch sleeve sized to fit the appendage having a first edge and a second edge and a plurality of stretch portions operably coupled to either the first edge or the second edge. A plurality of substantially non stretch tensioning members is operably coupled to one of the plurality of stretch portions and releasably adjustably coupleable to the generally non-stretch sleeve so as to apply tension to the stretch portions and to the generally non-stretch sleeve whereby compression is applied to the appendage.

  • Publication number: 20150374093
Abstract: A finger-mounted filing device can include an abrasive surface that can include a plurality of cutting edges in fixed relation. The abrasive surface can be used for grinding a work surface, such as a fingernail of an infant, child, or adult. The abrasive surface can include a finger surface located on an opposing face of the abrasive surface. The finger surface can be shaped to receive an operator's finger. The abrasive surface can be coupled to a finger clamp. The finger clamp can include the finger surface and at least one jaw, such as for griping an operator's finger. The finger surface can include a fingertip insertion stop. The fingertip insertion stop can include a barrier to retain the finger on the finger surface.

  • Publication number: 20130331792
Abstract: The present disclosure provides devices and uses thereof. A devices disclosed herein comprises one or more tips, wherein the one or more tips are designed and constructed to initiate penetration by the device; and one or more protrusions in a region adjacent to each tip. In some embodiments, one or more protrusions can be constructed and arranged so that the required penetration force is reduced as compared with that observed for an otherwise identical device lacking the one or more protrusions. Additionally or alternatively, one or more protrusions can be constructed and arranged such that the required pull-out force is increased as compared with that observed for an otherwise identical device lacking the one or more protrusions.
