  • Patent number: 11898728
Abstract: A flexible light emitting diode (LED) sheet operable to (i) produce light, (ii) enhance an amount of light and/or connected light-emitting diodes and/or sheets that can be daisy chained together, and (iii) lower wattage consumption. Lighting options include single color, color changing lighting, and pixel lighting.

  • Publication number: 20240029595
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for making a three-dimensional design are disclosed. The method includes generating a base layer with a three-dimensional feature by removing material from a starting block. Then a cover layer is generated with an opening having a shape that corresponds to the three-dimensional feature. The cover layer is coupled (e.g., adhered) to a first front surface of the base layer by inserting the three-dimensional feature into the opening. The three-dimensional feature extends past a plane defined by a second front surface of the cover layer such that a side surface of the three-dimensional feature is exposed. A light fixture is positioned adjacent to a back surface of the base layer, such that the three-dimensional feature is illuminated through the opening. A top surface of the three-dimensional feature is covered, such that light only transmits through the side surface of the three-dimensional feature, creating a backlighting effect.

Lighting options include single color, color changing lighting, and pixel lighting. Some examples include one or more strips of LEDs (e.g., in a 12 volt configuration) adhered to one or more substrate surfaces. The one or more substrate surfaces can include one or more posts that extend through openings of an inner frame, such that the substrate surface(s) and inner frame couple together to form a backlighting frame. Additionally or alternatively, the one or more substrate surfaces can be arranged at 90 degree angles and/or in a plurality of parallel lines to form an LED array, one or more LED panels, and/or a three-dimensional illumination object (e.g., a rectangular prism).

  • Patent number: 6401876
Abstract: A ground-engaging emergency brake and anti-jackknife system for a vehicle comprises a brake skid which has at least one elongated substantially planar rigid base member, and upper and lower planar surfaces. A replaceable traction member is removably affixed to the base member lower planar surface. A linkage mechanism positions the brake skid in a ground-engaging deployed plane which is parallel to the plane of the vehicle, and when retracted, in a position adjacent to the underside of the vehicle. An actuating mechanism actuates the brake skid between the deployed and retracted positions. The brake skid is centered axially with respect to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle between the rear wheels of the vehicle. The actuating mechanism and linkage mechanism are effective to place a substantial amount of the vehicle weight on the brake skid when the brake skid is in its deployed position.
