  • Patent number: 9561780
Abstract: A windshield wiper assembly includes a telescoping wiper head having a first section fixed to a pivot drive shaft and a second section capable of translating relative to the first section between an extended position and a retracted position. A curvilinear guide rail engages the second section and guides the second section between the extended and retracted positions. A wiper blade is carried on the second section. Advantageously the wiper assembly functions to provide enhanced wiper coverage over the Zone B portion of the windscreen through which the occupants view is typically directed.

  • Publication number: 20170020517
Abstract: A surgical stapler including a hollow shaft and a tube slidable axially within the shaft between a forward position wherein one end of the tube projects beyond a free end of the shaft to enter a puncture site in a blood vessel and a rearward position wherein the end of the locator tube is retracted within the shaft. A surgical staple straddles the tube and is slidable thereon forwardly towards an anvil against which the staple may be deformed to staple together the opposite edges of the puncture site. A cam mechanism drives the staple forwardly along the tube into deforming engagement with the anvil and at the same time retracts the tube into the shaft in time to allow the legs of the staple to close onto the puncture site.

  • Publication number: 20170004672
Abstract: After the main ball drop of a bingo game, a player may be given a free extra bingo number. A probability of awarding a free ball may be determined, at least in part, according to a desired paytable percentage for the bingo game. In some implementations providing multi-card bingo games, a player is required to hit a predetermined pattern on more than one bingo card in order to obtain a progressive award. The number of hits in the pattern(s) and/or the number of bingo cards involved may be determined according to a desired progressive award size and/or a desired probability of obtaining the progressive award. Players may have an opportunity to purchase an additional bingo number or a block of a plurality of additional bingo numbers after the main ball drop. The block may be offered at a discount compared to the price of an individual additional bingo number.

  • Publication number: 20160188529
Abstract: In an example, a control system may include a system-on-a-chip (SoC), including one processor for real-time operation to manage devices in the control system, and another processor configured to execute auxiliary functions such as a user interface for the control system. The first core and second core may share memory such as dynamic random access memory (DRAM), and may also share an uncore fabric configured to communicatively couple the processors to one or more peripheral devices. The first core may require a guaranteed quality of service (QoS) to memory and/or peripherals. The uncore fabric may be divided into a first “real-time” virtual channel designated for traffic from the first processor, and a second “auxiliary” virtual channel designated for traffic from the second processor. The uncore fabric may apply a suitable selection or weighting algorithm to the virtual channels to guarantee the QoS.

  • Patent number: 9348774
Abstract: The disclosure is directed to a system and method for controlling a non-volatile memory (NVM) device with controller-opaque commands issued by a host. A device controller is configured to receive a command script from a host. The device controller executes one or more commands of the command script including sending one or more operations of the command script to a NVM device in communication with the device controller. The device controller is enabled to provide at least a portion of the one or more operations from the command script to be executed by the NVM device without any embedded knowledge by the device controller of the actions of and/or consequences of the operations, thereby allowing the host to access NVM commands that are not necessarily supported by the device controller.

  • Patent number: 9261366
Abstract: When a user enters, initializes, or otherwise starts using a navigation function, such as a navigation function on a mobile phone or a stand-alone device, a current location is automatically estimated, prior to or in the absence of a GPS fix, for use as an origin in route determination. The estimation of current location is performed using a database of GPS fixes that are mapped to cell tower identifiers. For example, the database can include one or more fixes associated with each cell tower that the mobile device has used. Thus, when navigation on the device is begun, one or more cell towers to which the device can communicate are identified. If any has a GPS fix in the database, then a location derived from such GPS fix(es) can be used as an origin for navigation functions. Such navigation functions can include estimating a time of arrival at a destination, producing a route to the destination, and checking for traffic updates.

  • Patent number: 9232350
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and system for facilitating dedicated communication between specific users relating to a travel transaction, the system including a travel resource mobile application. The mobile application may be installed on a mobile device, wherein the user of the mobile application and other users are included in a group which participates in the travel transaction, and each such user is assigned a role. The mobile application may also provide travel information and secure communication to each user of the group of users, wherein the group of users may be restricted based on the travel transaction. The mobile application may retrieve user contact information from the mobile device to facilitate communication between the group of users while masking the contact information of each user. The mobile application may also determine a location of at least one user from a group of users.
