    Abstract: Systems and methods for simultaneous multi-channel off-axis holography are described. Multi-channel imaging systems can include a light system including a plurality of light sources configured to generate illumination and reference beams at a plurality of wavelengths, an illumination system configured to illuminate a target object with the illumination beams, an optical assembly configured to receive a reflected target beam and condition the target beam for recording at an optical imaging system, and a reference system configured to propagate the reference beams to the optical imaging system. The reference beams are interfered with the target beam at the optical imaging system to create interference patterns, which can be recorded in a collective image having a plurality of side lobes. Holographic information in the side lobes can be combined to generate 3D images having a substantially reduced signal to noise ratio.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for three-dimensional imaging and viewing are disclosed. A method for generating a three-dimensional image may include producing a pattern in a spatial light modulator based on data representative of an image of an object, illuminating the spatial light modulator so as to yield a projection beam, masking at least one portion of the projection beam such that a portion of the projection beam is selected, and propagating the selected portion to an exit pupil so as to form a virtual 3-D image of the object when viewed at the exit pupil. An apparatus may include a projector comprising a spatial light modulator array that modulates the phase of light to produce a phase modulated beam that is projected to a viewer thereby forming a 3-D image of the object when viewed by the viewer, and processing electronics configured to extract phase information from a signal.

    Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for synthesizing a high resolution image associated with a large imaging aperture using an optical imaging apparatus having a smaller aperture. In certain implementations, introduction of a coherent homodyne reference beam to a coherent imaging of an object can result in formation of a Fourier space side lobe that includes information about a portion of a spectrum representative of the object's Fourier spectrum. Images can be obtained at a number of different orientations to yield a number of such side lobe images so as to allow construction of the object's spectrum. A synthesized image corresponding to such a constructed spectrum can have an improved resolution that exceeds the performance limit imposed by the aperture of the optical imaging apparatus.
