  • Patent number: 7060362
Abstract: This invention relates to labels. In one embodiment, the labels comprise a polymer facestock layer, a nano-porous layer underlying the facestock, and a metal layer overlying the facestock or underlying the facestock between the facestock and the nano-porous layer. In another embodiment, the labels also comprise a water-based adhesive in contact with the lower surface of the nano-porous layer. These labels can be bonded to substrates of glass, plastic, or metal using a water based adhesive which is in contact with the nano-porous layer.

  • Publication number: 20050230960
Abstract: A tamper-resistant secure label, article and associated method. A label for overlying information comprises an adhesive layer for adhering the label to a substrate. The adhesive layer includes a structural adhesive that ensures that an initial removal precludes re-adhering using the adhesive layer. The label may further include an obscuring layer to selectively block visual access to the information and maintain the confidentiality of the information until the obscuring layer is removed.

  • Publication number: 20040244316
Abstract: A roof covering (10) comprising a plastic film (40) and an adhesive (46) positioned under the lower film surface (44). The film (40) can be a plastic film selected to provide substantial solar reflectance and high thermal emittance and the adhesive (46) can be a pressure-sensitive adhesive. The roof covering (10) of the present invention can be provided in a roll, sheets, or other medium, and it can be applied to an EPDM membrane after the membrane is assembled to the roof. The roof covering (10) can instead be incorporated into a laminate including an EPDM membrane and assembled to the roof at the same time as the membrane.

  • Publication number: 20040180195
Abstract: Housewrap (10) for attachment to a building (12) after installation of sheathing (14) and prior to installation of siding/cladding. The housewrap comprises a barrier layer (20) and an adhesive layer (22). The barrier layer (20) has a first surface (24), which faces inward relative to the building (12), and a second surface (26), which faces outward relative to the building (12). The adhesive layer (22) is applied to the first surface (24) for attachment of the housewrap (10) to the sheathing (14). The barrier layer (20) provides a moisture barrier against outside water or moisture, yet allows a water vapor transmission rate of at least 100 g/m2/day from the interior of the building (12). The adhesive layer (22) comprises a pressure sensitive adhesive that has a high moisture vapor transmission rate of at least about 100 g/m2/day.

  • Publication number: 20030099827
Abstract: This invention relates to labels. In one embodiment the labels comprise a facestock layer, a hygroscopic layer underlying the facestock, and a metal layer overlying the facestock or underlying the facestock between the facestock and the hygroscopic layer. These labels can be bonded to substrates of glass, plastic, or metal using a water based adhesive which is in contact with the hygroscopic layer. In another embodiment, the labels comprise a facestock, a hygroscopic layer underlying the facestock, and a water-based adhesive underlying and in contact with the hygroscopic layer. These labels also are useful for labeling substrates of glass, plastic or metal.
