  • Patent number: 9900326
Abstract: Apparatus for use with a computer to secure the computer's stored data against malware in the computer's central processing unit (CPU). The apparatus comprises a keyboard and display. The keyboard is connected to the computer's central bus, and a secure connection to the computer's data storage device. The secure connection is operable independent of the CPU. The storage device comprises a file system to manage the stored data independent of the CPU. The keyboard is configured for displaying, on the display, the stored data independent of the CPU. The keyboard, storage device and secure connection operate to protect data and prevent the CPU from accessing the protected data. The computer may be networked and configured to authenticate the computer's user and securely communicate data between another network computer and the keyboard and/or monitor of the computer independent of the computer's CPU.

  • Publication number: 20140304614
Abstract: Coordinate information for an element of a project map comprises a user-selectable logistical indicator selected from a plurality of logistical indicators, each representing a different a manner of handling a project component and each uniquely represented by a predetermined visual indicium. The coordinate information, the map element and the logistical indicator are associated with electronic information. Using coordinate information provided by users, the map is displayed the predetermined visual indicia associated with the logistical indicators of the coordinate information plotted on the map elements. Each plotted visual indicium is selectable by a user to display at least a portion of the electronic information associated with the logistical indicator represented by that predetermined visual indicia. The result is to an electronic information management tool which provides a visual overview of the logistical indicators that have been selected by users for map components.

  • Publication number: 20130110729
Abstract: A method comprising, providing a server accessing a network through a network interface card, the network interface card receiving a message from a remote client, the message comprising credentials for performing a request, in response to the network interface card receiving the message, the network interface card preventing the credentials from being provided to the server and checking the credentials against those previously stored in a directly attached memory; and the network interface card indicating to the server the outcome of attempting to perform the request, wherein the credentials remain inaccessible to the server during the method.

  • Patent number: 8302174
Abstract: A system for secure provision of key credential information is provided. The system comprises secure logic circuitry for being disposed in a host computer. The secure logic circuitry detects a message received from a remote computer connected to the host computer and indicative of a request for provision of the key credential information; generates a message for prompting a user for provision of the key credential information; receives the key credential information; and provides the key credential information to the remote computer absent processing using circuitry of the host computer. The system further comprises a secure user interface connected to the secure logic circuitry for receiving the key credential information from the user and providing the same to the secure logic circuitry.

  • Patent number: 6965614
Abstract: A communications system includes a packet-based data network coupled to various network elements, including a gateway that provides ports to various peripheral devices. One type of peripheral device includes a Universal Serial Bus (USB) device. A network element coupled to the data network may establish Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) sessions with the gateway. Once a SIP session is established, communications may occur between the network element and the peripheral device. SIP messaging is exchanged between the network element and the gateway. USB commands and data are exchanged between the gateway and the USB device. The gateway converts between the SIP messaging and the USB commands and data.

  • Patent number: 6754710
Abstract: A wireless remote control is disclosed for controlling computers remotely over a data network. The wireless remote control system includes Remote Access Programs running on data network servers, which provide access to, and disposition of data objects. The wireless remote control system is particularly useful for overcoming the difficulty of handling data over a low bandwidth wireless link with the minimal display facilities of a wireless handset or Personal Digital Assistant and of providing linkage between data objects on one computer and applications residing on another computer under the direct supervision of the user without the data objects needing to traverse the low bandwidth link.

  • Publication number: 20030083933
Abstract: Methods are provided for establishing rewards benefits for account holders to attract usage of such accounts. According to a first such method, data storage space is provided to an account holder, the storage space being accessible over the Internet through a central server running on-line digital assistant (ODA) system software configured for managing data in relation to the storage space. An Internet address and passcode are allocated to the account holder, the address enabling Internet access to the central server and the passcode enabling access by the account holder to the storage space. Use of the ODA system software by the account holder, to store, access and process data in the storage space, is enabled upon submission of the passcode. According to a second such method a separate, independently operable subsidiary credit card account is associated with an account holder's main credit card account and a separate credit limit is assigned to the subsidiary account for purchase authorization purposes.
