Abstract: A method of personalizing drug dosages that includes the steps of analyzing and correlating a plurality of patient health condition factors specific to a particular patient with a database of drugs that includes drug dosage specifications and individual drug dosage adjustments based on the plurality of patient health condition factors. A code segment is generated for each of the plurality of patient health condition factors specific to the particular patient and assigning the plurality of code segments to the particular patient, and the plurality of code segments is digitized and stored for retrieval. Upon presentation of a drug prescription, the digitized plurality reads the code segments, accesses the drug database and adjusts the drug dosage as indicated by the drug database.

Abstract: A method of verifying the correct amount of a drug in a syringe, including the steps of providing a handheld electronic barcode scanning device containing digital data that includes a range of medically appropriate drug dosages to be administered to a patient by a syringe and a range of positions of a syringe plunger in relation to a syringe barrel correlated to the medically appropriate drug dosages. A drug container is scanned that causes the handheld device to display the identity of the drug and medically appropriate drug dosages. A medically appropriate drug dosage for a specific patient is determined and drawn into a syringe. The syringe is scanned and digitally compares the position of the plunger in the syringe barrel with the range of positions of the syringe plunger stored as digital data in the handheld device to verify the correct amount of drug in the syringe based on the position of the plunger.

Abstract: A product and method for providing information in a manner that is easily accessible when necessary or desirable. In one embodiment of the invention, information is uploaded to a server and a label, sticker or other surface is provided with at least first and second bar codes, one of which is used to access an instructional message, such as a video, and the other of which allows a user to utilize the instruction received from access to the first bar code to permit a task to be performed. Several examples of these uses are described in this application.

The lower plate member has a notch formed therein for receiving and engaging a beverage container. The beverage container is held in a position below the upper plate member, and an upper lip of the beverage container can support the upper plate member. The notch in the lower plate member can include a substantially circular section having a diameter slightly less than the upper lip of the beverage container such that the upper lip of the beverage container rests on an upper surface of the lower plate member when positioned within the substantially circular section of the notch.

A plunger is received within the barrel and is axially moveable relative thereto for controlling fluid flow through the dispensing port. A dosing indicator is carried by the plunger and includes indicia thereon collectively representing a dosing range of the fluid based upon a correlation between the indicia and a therapeutic treatment variable for a preselected group of patients. The indicia cooperate with the plunger and barrel for measuring a medically correct dose of the fluid to be administered to a patient from the group.
