  • Patent number: 7101192
Abstract: A secondary lock that can be used for multi-pin electrical connectors is disclosed. The secondary lock comprises a modular, non-conducting, one piece plastic insert that can be suitably adapted to interconnect with a primary lock of the multi-pin electrical connecter. The insert includes a plurality of fingers and pin cavities that support and align pins of the multi-pin electrical connector. A centrally located centering post may be used for positioning and aligning the insert within the multi-pin electrical connector, juxtaposed to the primary lock. The secondary lock may be used for both cylindrical and rectangular type multi-pin electrical connectors. The secondary lock holds the pins of the multi-pin electrical connector in place, even in the event of total failure of the primary lock.

  • Publication number: 20050266718
Abstract: A electrical cable assembly with hermaphroditic coupling with a high current rating, is disclosed. The electrical cable assembly with hermaphroditic coupling includes a pin contact terminal in a first coupling sleeve and a hyperboloid socket terminal in a second coupling sleeve. The pin contact terminal may be inserted within the second coupling sleeve, and the hyperboloid socket terminal may be inserted within the first coupling sleeve. The socket contact may include a RADSOKĀ® socket. The first and second coupling sleeves are coupled together by urging the pin contact terminal into the hyperboloid socket terminal and rotating.

  • Publication number: 20050266713
Abstract: An in-line hermaphroditic electrical cable assembly with a high current rating, is disclosed. The in-line hermaphroditic electrical cable assembly includes contacts for both signal and power conductors. A freely rotatable contact terminal retainer retains the signal and power contacts. A hyperboloid socket terminal is used as a power contact. Complementary coupling housings are coupled together by urging together and twisting hermaphroditic electrical and structural components.
