Publication number: 20240009645Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and compositions for a new way to separate biologics using coated pegboards—plastic plates affixed with an array of 96-pegs which align with the wells of a traditional 96-well plate used in bench top experiments. The ends of the pegs are conjugated to various compounds which are able to bind tags on engineered proteins (ex. Ni-NTA would bind a His-Tag on an engineered protein). These pegs extend into plate wells to specifically bind the tagged protein from the cell lysate which contains hundreds of other proteins. The pegboard, now laden with the protein of interest (POI), may then be dipped into sequential buffers to wash away potential non-specifically bound proteins to purify the POI.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 10, 2023Publication date: January 11, 2024Inventors: Sylvia SARNIK, Simon James Bradshaw MALLINSON, Peter SMITH, Yannick J. Publication number: 20220315955Abstract: Disclosed herein is a novel, cofactor balanced, cell-free biocatalysis pathway to make diacids from formaldehyde or methanol that does not use ATP and produces no CO2. In another embodiment, disclosed herein is a novel C5/C6 (hydrolysate) utilization pathway that interplays with the cell making diacids from formaldehyde or methanol that does not use ATP, produces no CO2, and replaces ATP with (cheap) polyphosphate (no other cofactors needed). Using methods and compositions disclosed herein, no CO2 is produced and the pathways disclosed herein are cell-free. The combination of pathways, feedstocks and products disclosed herein is novel.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 4, 2022Publication date: October 6, 2022Inventors: Yannick J. Patent number: 5908521Abstract: The apparatus includes a two-stage mixer formed within a single housing and including a first high shear mixer and a second low shear mixer. Plaster slurry is formed in the first mixer. A partition is laid on a first fixing sheet, a portion laid on a second fixing sheet, and the remainder discharged to the second mixer. In the second mixer, foam is added and the formed slurry is laid on the unformed slurry on the first fixing sheet. The unformed slurry in the second fixing sheet is brought to the formed slurry to join the product.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 1997Date of Patent: June 1, 1999Assignee: BPB Industries Public Limited CompanyInventors: John Ainsley, John James Bradshaw, Arthur George Terry Ward

Patent number: 5864775Abstract: A rotary position transducer comprises a sensor cooperating with a toothed wheel which has nominally evenly spaced teeth and which may, for instance, be mounted on the crankshaft of an internal combustion engine. The times at which the teeth pass the sensor are stored. The time intervals between consecutive teeth are calculated, for instance during fuel cut-off operation of the engine. An error in the angular spacing between consecutive teeth is calculated for the time interval between consecutive teeth, a time interval between further teeth disposed symmetrically about the consecutive teeth, and the nominal angular spacing between the further teeth.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 1996Date of Patent: January 26, 1999Assignee: Lucas Industries, public limited companyInventors: Benjamin James Bradshaw, Anthony Claude Wakeman

Patent number: 5309376Abstract: Test equipment, for testing that an image processing apparatus is operating correctly, is coupled to the output port of the image processing apparatus. A predetermined group of signals corresponding to a portion of an image from the image processing apparatus is stored in a memory in the test equipment. The signals are then analysed either by an operator using a monitor or by electronic comparison of the signals with reference signals corresponding to the portion of the image, from a reference store.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 1991Date of Patent: May 3, 1994Assignee: Crosfield Electronics LimitedInventors: Ignazio Barraco, James Bradshaw
