  • Patent number: 5279281
Abstract: A flexible laryngoscope is intended for use with a light source which produces a light beam. The laryngoscope includes a body which has a fibre-optic bundle extending therefrom including a fibre-optic cable having a viewing end and a movable free end. An eyepiece is carried on the body and is optically connected to the viewing end of the fibre-optic bundle. Suitable optics are provided for directing a light beam from the light source to the fibre-optic cable. A directing mechanism is provided and positions the fibre-optic cable at a substantially 90.degree. angle to the eyepiece as the cable extends outwardly from the laryngoscope body. A guide mechanism is provided for controlling the location of the free end of the fibre-optic cable.

  • Patent number: 4951072
Abstract: A universal mount is disclosed herein for positioning small subjects for macro-photography which includes a box-like base having a releasable fastener for detachably coupling with a tripod mount of a conventional camera so as to downwardly depend therefrom. A fixed barrel tube outwardly projects in a cantilevered fashion from the side of the base and includes bearings for slidably and rotatably receiving an elongated focus tube arranged in coaxial and telescoping relationship therewith. A rod holder is carried on the free end of the focus tube having an axis normal to the central longitudinal axis of the focus tube for slidably supporting a specimen holder such as a clip or transparent box.

  • Patent number: 4737016
Abstract: A field microscope is disclosed herein for hand-held operation having a viewer body including a pair of bores lying on a parallel spaced-apart central axis for fixedly securing an eyepiece viewer with magnifying lens in a selected one of the bores and a slidable object mount in the other of the bores. The objective mount includes a guided track on its outwardly cantilevered end for frictional mounting of a detachable slide or panel intended to hold or carry the object to be viewed. The portion of the slide or panel retaining the object is movable with respect to the central optical axis of the lens and viewer by rotation of the objective mount or by linear movement thereof with respect to the body.
