  • Patent number: 10291059
Abstract: A charging apparatus for charging a portable electronic device includes a receiving area, two coil pairs, and coil control circuitry. The receiving area is configured to removably receive the portable electronic device and/or a case for a portable electronic device. The two coil pairs are positioned around a perimeter of the receiving area of the charging apparatus. Each coil pair includes first and second electrically conductive coils. The second electrically conductive coil is opposite the first electrically conductive coil on the perimeter of the receiving area and the ends of each electrically conductive coil including electrical leads. The coil control circuitry is electrically connected to each electrically conductive coil. The coil control circuitry is configured to selectively provide a charging current to at least one of the coil pairs to induce a magnetic field around the electrically conductive coils for inductively charging the portable electronic device.

  • Patent number: 9698632
Abstract: A wireless charger includes a plurality of conductive coils and electronic circuitry. The coils are disposed around a perimeter and face a generally central area of the perimeter. The coils are connected to and controlled by the electronic circuitry, which includes an electric power receiving circuit and a coil controller. The electric power receiving circuit receives electrical power from an external source and conditions the power for provision to the coil controller. The coil controller controls provision of an oscillating current to select coils within the plurality of coils. A protective enclosure or portable electronic device may have receiving coils disposed at its sides for corresponding to at least two of the conductive coils of the wireless charger.

  • Patent number: 9426548
Abstract: A loudspeaker includes a rigid enclosure, and a sound projecting region formed in a wall of the rigid enclosure. The sound projecting region includes one or more active driver speakers rigidly connected with the rigid enclosure, the active driver speakers to project sound outward from the sound projecting region and to reflect sound waves within the rigid enclosure. The loudspeaker includes flexible inner surrounds that frame each active driver speaker, and a passive radiator at least partially around the active driver speakers and connected between the inner surround and a flexible outer surround. The outer surround is connected with the rigid enclosure. Electronic circuitry of the loudspeaker includes an audio data receiver to receive audio data, one or more processors to process the audio data, and an amplifier to amplify the processed audio data for playback by the one or more active driver speakers.
