  • Patent number: 6082837
Abstract: A modular display system of interlocking components, and more particularly, a modular cubic display frame, comprising two sets of four mitered frame members, the two sets defining opposing rectangular end planes, and a set of longitudinal frame members extending perpendicularly between the corners of the two end planes. The end and the longitudinal frame members are interconnected at each corner utilizing a threaded bolt or screw having a lipped head. The lip projecting from the head engages a corresponding groove formed in the outer surfaces of the mitered corners of the end frame members, while the externally-threaded shaft of the screw engages an internally-threaded bore in the end of the longitudinal frame member. All of the frame members have longitudinal channels formed along each side and one corner, for attaching two modular display frames to each other, or for attaching a variety of auxiliary devices to a display frame.

  • Patent number: 6042066
Abstract: A tension pole comprising an outer, lower pole piece and an inner, upper pole piece. The bottom of the lower pole piece and the top of the upper pole piece are provided with rubber feet. The pole pieces are telescopable to adjust the length of the tension pole. A locking mechanism is provided which further telescopes one piece relative to the other to lock the tension pole between floor and ceiling with the rubber feet absorbing at least a part of the telescopic movement due to the locking action. Locking is done by turning a handle. Also, the locking/telescoping action simultaneously frictionally engages the pole pieces together to further secure the device.

  • Patent number: 6027089
Abstract: A mounting bracket for a tension pole or other structure is provided. The bracket is provided with a spine which is fittable into a channel of a tension pole, scaffolding, or other primary support. The spine is preferably a parallelogram or a half-dovetail in section. A rotatable locking flange is provided in a break in the spine. When the locking flange is in the unlocked position, it is coaxial with the spine. When the locking flange is rotated into the locked position, the axis of the flange is orthogonal to the axis of the spine, and at least one of the ends of the flange juts out beyond the profile of the spine and behind the angled walls of the channel of the primary support. A handle is provided to facilitate rotation of the locking flange from an unlocked position to a locked position and back.

  • Patent number: 5782389
Abstract: A clothing form or mannequin comprising a laminar construction spine including left and right outer spine sections and a central spine section, which are of laminar form and in profile are generally similar to the side profile of a human spine. A plurality of spaced parallel slots extend inwardly from the forward-facing edges of the spine sections, which slots are identically located in each of the spine sections so as to be in registration when the spine sections are positioned side-by-side so as to define a plurality of sets of aligned slots. A flat modular lamina is positioned in each slot at a right angle to the spine. The laminae are configured to resemble cross-sections of a human torso at different positions along the length of a human spine, each of the laminae corresponding to a specific one of the sets of slots in the spine sections, so that the laminae as positioned in the spine give the appearance of a stylized human torso.

  • Patent number: 5671852
Abstract: Display apparatus includes at least two longitudinally extending members for operation in a vertical position, including at least four panel holders with two each of the holders secured to each member. A panel is held at its corners by each holder to extend between the longitudinally extending members. The panel holders include a facing pair of substantially rigid plates having substantially flat opposing surfaces, a rigid member separating and interconnecting the plates, including dividing protrusions to divide the volume between the plates into segments. A clamping mechanism extends from one of the flat plates toward the other and moveably held in relation to the other plate to clamp in place any member held within the volume between the two plates.

A panel is held at its corners by each holder to extend between the longitudinally extending members. The panel holders include a facing pair of substantially flat, rigid plates, a rigid central member separating and interconnecting the plates, including dividing protrusions to divide the volume between the plates into pre-shaped sections. A clamping mechanism extends from one of the flat plates toward the other and movably held in relation to the other plate to clamp in place any member held within the volume between the two plates.
