  • Publication number: 20220124960
Abstract: Briefly, an advanced data collection and processing system is provided to collect multiple types of data from farm terrain to drive a farm management processes, including a crop yield simulation tool. The system has disparate sensors mounted on a vehicle, such as a ground vehicle or airplane, which collects data from GPS, RADAR, camera, thermal, LiDAR and spectral scanners for an area of interest on a farm terrain. The system also collects data from public sources and the farm manager, which enable the simulation tool to accurately predict crop growth and maturity.

  • Publication number: 20210223187
Abstract: A system and method for simulating soil moisture of farmland and large agricultural areas in three dimensions is described. The invention utilizes numerical techniques to solve a three dimensional boundary value problem which is defined by the soil to air interface (surface, x and y), and soil below surface (depth along the z axis) over the area of interest. Solved are key parameters which describe the soil which include soil particle size distribution (soil type), Hydraulic conductivity (water flow in the Z axis) Soil water diffusivity (water moving in the x, and y direction). This model will result in delivering soil moisture readings and soil water storage as a function of time thereby helping local managers of farmland or large agricultural areas to optimize watering and care of crops.

  • Publication number: 20200107508
Abstract: An irrigation control system is described for optimizing water used for growing crops. The irrigation control system uses a moisture sensor to measure soil moisture by measuring directly the relative phase velocities of different modes of propagation along a metallic structure mounted to a dielectric substrate. The average phase velocity is a function of the water content of the soil. The water content measurement is then transmitted to a central controller which then, through a set of heuristic algorithms, regulates the water distributed to the soil in a spatial and temporal manner.

  • Publication number: 20010029186
Abstract: An apparatus and method for providing a massively parallel wireless network for data and telephony comprised of a plurality of base station devices which are owned and operated by consumers and businesses across an area. The base station devices connect to a landline network and communicate wirelessly with a plurality of wireless handsets. Each handset can communicate with any of the base stations in the network. To place a call (or access data), a handset communicates with a nearby base station on a polling channel. The handset determines the strongest station signal and thereafter uses a designated channel to place calls through the landline connection via the base station.
