Abstract: An internal pedicle insulator apparatus, comprises an inner insertion rod having a top end and an opposing bottom end; and an outer insertion rod having an upper end and a lower end. The outer insertion rod being arranged and configured to substantially correspond to the inner insertion rod. The inner insertion rod is arranged and configured to slidably engaged inside the outer insertion rod and the inner insertion rod and the outer insertion rod are arranged and configured to position an internal pedicle insulator implant. A method of use is also provided.

Abstract: Included in the present disclosure is a system and method for fusing a facet joint. The system includes a trochar arranged and configured for use during percutaneous retraction, a retractor arranged and configured for use during percutaneous retraction, and a facet bur arranged and configured for decorticating the facet joint. Also included is at least one implant configured for insertion into the facet joint. The system also implements the trochar, retractor, and facet bur to prepare the facet joint for fusion.

Abstract: A surgical instrument and method for forming a passage in bone having an enlarged cross-sectional portion is provided. The instrument includes an elongate member and a cutting element engaged thereto and transitionable between a retracted configuration for extending through a first portion of the passage and an expanded configuration for forming a second portion of the passage having an enlarged cross-section. In one embodiment, the cutting element is transitioned between the retracted and expanded configurations by axially displacing the cutting element relative to the elongate member. In another embodiment, the elongate member includes a tapping thread configured to cut threads along the first portion of the passage, and the cutting element is a blade configured to form the enlarged cross-section when transitioned to the expanded configuration.
