  • Publication number: 20110014406
Abstract: An article exhibiting insulating or cushioning properties includes a multi-layered one-piece woven textile having opposed first and second faces and a continuous circumscribing peripheral edge therebetween. A first outer surface of the article is defined by a fluid-impervious laminate first sheet secured to the first face of the textile that includes a first fabric carrying a fluid-impervious melt-adhesive sealing film. A second outer surface of the article is defined by a fluid-impervious laminate second sheet secured to the second face of the textile that includes a second fabric carrying a fluid-impervious melt-adhesive sealing film. A continuous fluid-impervious seal is formed between the first sheet and the second sheet circumscribes the peripheral edge of the textile. The sealing film of each sheet is bonded to a respective face of the textile. The article is suitable for incorporation into a light-weight construction configured for rugged outdoor use.

  • Patent number: 7195281
Abstract: The application provides airbag cushion deployment restraint systems for use in inflatable airbag cushions. The deployment restraint systems of the invention regulate deployment of an airbag cushion to provide full radial expansion of the cushion prior to final expansion of the cushion toward a vehicle occupant. The deployment restraint systems of the invention thus increase the amount of contact surface area available to a vehicle occupant early in deployment and decrease the force with which the cushion is expanded toward a vehicle occupant during a collision event, thus reducing the likelihood of injury to an out-of-position vehicle occupant.

  • Patent number: 6945554
Abstract: An airbag inflator housing for mounting an airbag inflator to a vehicle. The airbag inflator housing includes a press-fit inflator mount for engaging an outer surface of an airbag inflator and a bracket member attached to the inflator mount that is configured to be attached to a vehicle. The inflator housing may hold the inflator in a press-fit manner by having an inside diameter that is smaller than an outside diameter of the airbag inflator. Alternatively, the inflator housing may hold the inflator in a clearance-fit or slip-fit manner, in which the inside diameter is equivalent to or larger than an outside diameter of the airbag inflator. In these inflator housings, the inflator must be additionally secured by a weld, a set screw, crimping, adhesive, or another suitable method.
