  • Publication number: 20050027781
Abstract: The concepts discussed herein address a system, method, and computer product by which an e-mail is automatically formatted. An e-mail is sent by an e-mail client and received by a server for processing outbound and inbound e-mail including a SMTP server, POP3/IMAP server, or another server in communication with the SMTP server, POP3/IMAP server, or both. The server receives the e-mail message from the e-mail client and text-parses the received e-mail for identifying an e-mail attribute. Next, the system formats the received e-mail message in accordance with a predetermined format corresponding to the identified e-mail attribute, which is sent to intended recipient(s).

  • Patent number: 6712256
Abstract: A nail gun carriage 10 is provided to support a nail gun 2 adjacent a surface such as a board B to be nailed by the nail gun 2. The nail gun carriage 10 includes at least one wheel 30 or other bearing surface which is located and oriented to rest directly against the boards B to be nailed by the nail gun 2 when the nail gun 2 attached to the nail gun carriage 10 is positioned properly for firing a nail into the board B. The wheel 30 is preferably rotatably supported by a frame 20 which is slidably attached to the nail gun 2. Alignment brackets 40 attach to the nail gun 2 and slidably attach to the frame 20 to keep the nail gun 2 aligned along a firing axis of the nail gun 2 during recoil and relative movement of the nail gun 2 with relationship to the frame 20.

  • Publication number: 20030161023
Abstract: A light-emitting system comprises a rare earth-containing organic light-emitting device (10, 11, 12, 13) fabricated on a silicon-based substrate (1). The light-emitting device is associated with a resonant cavity which may be in the form of a ridge or buried ridge waveguide (6). A diode (27) may form a modulator region (26) for injection of free carriers into the waveguide. This changes the refractive index or local absorption of the resonant cavity and thus allows switching of the system. The system is preferably a laser operating at about 1.5 &mgr;m although other wavelengths may be used. The wavelength is selected by the rare earth used.

  • Patent number: 6551030
Abstract: An arrangement for connecting tubular articles, particularly piles and pile sleeves, in which a first tube (4) fits into a second tube (2), the first tube having a first circumferential recess (10) and a second circumferential recess (12), and the second tube has a first set of latches (8) and a second set of latches (8′) which are resiliently biased to engage in the first and second recesses respectively. When the latches and the recesses are mutually engaged, axial movement is prevented by abutments in the recesses and the latches by one set of latches in one direction and the other set of latches in the opposite axial direction. Latching engagement is only possible when the first set of latches is opposite the first recess and the second set opposite the second recess. This ensures positive connection and the use of preferred elements (30) which extend from one set of latches through the outer casing of the second tube. A mechanism can be provided to readily unlatch the tubes.

  • Patent number: 5739183
Abstract: A method of stabilizing an aqueous solution of an acid copolymer of maleic acid and a C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl vinyl ether against degradation in viscosity or molecular weight upon storage for an extended period of time in aqueous solution at ambient conditions, with a single stabilizing agent, which comprises forming the acid copolymer directly from a slurry of corresponding anhydride in an organic solvent by hydrolysis in water, and adding including ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA), or salt thereof, as the single stabilizing agent to the solution either before or after hydrolysis.

  • Patent number: 5666400
Abstract: In a switching system for connecting a call between a calling station and a called station, a system and method of voice recognition using a concentrated or distributed multiplicity of voice recognition and other resources with a facility for selecting an initial resource on the calling station going off-hook by accessing a demographic database and a biometric database using common channel signaling and selecting a prompt to be delivered to the caller from a multiplicity of preselected prompts and reacting to a response by the caller with further addressing of database information to continue to select from said multiplicity of resources the most appropriate resource or resources in reaction to caller utterances. According to another feature the selection of resources is aided by optical means at the calling station delivering information regarding characteristics of the caller including lip movement to permit lip reading.
