  • Publication number: 20170211272
Abstract: A construction method and apparatus used to form a surround, container or other structure. Posts have slots into which walls, which may be planks or made up of planks, are inserted and retained. Numerous posts may be used with numerous walls therebetween to form many and varied structures. The finished structure is modular, because the posts and walls are not damaged when the walls mount in the slots. Therefore, if more or fewer posts and/or walls are desired later, one need merely disassemble the structure and add the components desired to the existing structure. The walls may have fittings that attach to the inserted ends that cooperate with structures in the slots formed in the posts so the walls are held from being removed from the slots except along the length of the slots.

  • Patent number: 7707798
Abstract: A screening device is provided with multiple channel upper and lower panel retaining members that allow multiple panels to be laterally moved past each other. Channel end caps, a panel rolling member assembly and close spacing of the upper and lower panel retaining members prevent removal of the panels from the screening device. A support structure uses angled castings and extrusion members for rapid custom screen device assembly that avoids long welding assembly times as well as subsequent weld failure due to screen device vibration. The panel rolling member assembly uses balls, rollers or wheels to easily move the panels in their channels. A trim member with oppositely faced channels engages upper and lower projections on the panel retaining members and covers fastener heads located in a recess in the panel retaining members.

  • Patent number: 7194831
Abstract: A menu system comprises a frame that receives interchangeable menu sections with different heights such that sections of various heights are combined to fill the frame space. The menu sections have a central web with upper and lower front channels that receive a presentation strip. Clips, catches, latches, and magnets are used to secure the menu sections in the frame. A preferred menu section uses upper and lower middle web portions attached to web ends. An end cap at the end of a menu section prevents inadvertent loss of presentation strips from the menu section. The end cap can be formed from resilient matter and latched to a web end.

  • Patent number: 7000362
Abstract: A screening device is provided with multiple channel upper and lower panel retaining members that allow multiple panel members to be slid in front of or behind each other. Channel end caps and close spacing of the upper and lower panel retaining members prevent removal of the panels from the screening device. A support structure uses angled castings and extrusion members for rapid custom screen device assembly that avoids long welding assembly times as well as subsequent weld failure due to screen device vibration. A corner panel, decorative trim, a top panel retaining member alignment tang, and a fastener concealing end cap are also provided.

  • Patent number: 6688025
Abstract: A menu system comprises a frame that receives interchangeable menu sections of a width such that sections of various width are combined to fill the frame space. The menu sections have a central section with upper and lower front channels that receive backing strips, copy strips, and digital price carriers. The central section may also have upper and lower rear channels, an upward extending light blocking projection, and a central aperture for back lighting. A clip may be used in the front or rear upper and lower channels to secure the menu sections to the frame.

  • Patent number: 5315799
Abstract: Extruded aluminum alloy base, intermediate and top panels and a decorative plastic insert are provided. One marginal portion of the base panel is mounted on a support member on a building. An opposing marginal portion on the base panel is formed with a coupling member and with a perpendicular flange. An adjoining marginal portion on the intermediate panel is formed with a member-receiving channel and a perpendicular ledge. An opposing marginal portion on the intermediate panel is formed with a coupling member and with a perpendicular ledge. An adjoining marginal portion on the top panel is formed with a member-receiving channel and with a perpendicular flange. An opposing marginal portion of the top panel is adapted to be mounted on the support member on the building. The relatively adjoining flanges and ledges on the base, intermediate and top panels are adapted to receive a plurality of machine screws.
