  • Patent number: 11667067
Abstract: An extruder assembly includes a rolling assembly. An extrusion block includes a plurality of extruding ports that receive an extrudable material from the rolling assembly. A regulating mechanism is positioned within, above, or otherwise near each extruding port of the plurality of extruding ports. The regulating mechanism is operable with respect to the rolling assembly to modify a flow of extrudable material through each respective extruding port.

  • Patent number: 10207417
Abstract: A cutting assembly for cutting an extruded edible material includes an extrusion assembly having a food extrusion port that extrudes an edible material in an extrusion direction. A cutter frame having a cutting edge is positioned proximate the food extrusion port. The cutting edge moves through a cutting region proximate the extrusion port in a cutting motion. First and second servo motors are operably coupled to the cutter frame, wherein the first servo motor operates the cutting edge to define a first component of the cutting motion perpendicular to the extrusion direction. The second servo motor operates the cutting edge to define a second component of the cutting motion generally parallel with the extrusion direction. The first and second servo motors combine the first and second components to define a cutting path and a return path of the cutting edge through the cutting region.

  • Publication number: 20180056411
Abstract: A segmenting mechanism includes outer and inner frame members that define a sliding space and an aperture extending therethrough. A first set of sliding blades operates linearly and proximate the aperture. A second set of sliding blades is positioned in an alternating configuration with the first set of sliding blades and also operates linearly within the sliding space proximate the aperture. Each sliding blade of the first and second sets of sliding blades operates cooperatively and simultaneously along each dedicated linear path from a start position, through a medial position to an end position. The start and end positions are each defined by the sliding blades being outside of the aperture to define respective first and second open states of the aperture. The medial position is defined by the sliding blades being at least partially within the aperture to define a closed state of the aperture.
