  • Patent number: 5233329
Abstract: A circuit including a sender providing a sender output signal responsive to a vehicle parameter, circuitry for providing an adjustable reference, circuitry for comparing the output signal to the adjustable reference and providing a comparison output signal therefrom, an up/down counter for filtering the comparison output signal, and circuitry for providing an indicator control signal in response to the filtered output signal and for controlling the adjustment of the adjustable reference, provides a signal to a vehicle operator that is both filtered and has hysteresis to minimize repeated switching of the signal between two states.

  • Patent number: 5146154
Abstract: A circuit disclosed maintains ratiometric analog inputs to an integrated circuit using a network of resistors, some of which are external to the integrated circuit and some of which are internal to the integrated circuit, reducing expense. The analog inputs maintain a fixed ratio during fluctuations in supply voltage and fluctuations in temperature.

  • Patent number: 4970441
Abstract: A VF display control apparatus operated directly from an automotive storage battery in which the display brightness variation is minimized by controlling the relationship between the anode and grid voltages in relation to the fluctuation of the battery voltage. The anodes of the display are operated substantially at the battery voltage, and the grid voltage is reduced in relation to the amount by which the anode (supply) voltage exceeds the nominal open-circuit terminal voltage of the battery.

  • Patent number: 4960121
Abstract: An improved half-face mask assembly (10) which can be easily donned and doffed. The assembly includes a hard shell (12), a rubber-like face seal (14), a head harness assembly (16) and two harness anchors and adjusters (18). These parts can be readily assembled or disassembled. Face seals of differing sizes may be assembled to the hard shell. An improved seal is provided between a hard shell (12) and an associated rubber-like face seal (14). A two point head harness suspension system is typically provided althrough an optional neck strap assembly may be utilized with the half-face mask assembly. In addition, a novel one piece harness anchor and adjuster is disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4859912
Abstract: To avoid non uniform brightness or flickering of a vacuum fluorescent display especially at low brightness levels anodes energizing pulses sent to each end of the display are coordinated with the AC filament current so that successive pulses or group of pulses are initiated at opposite phases of the filament current at sufficiently high rates to time average the light variations of a critical flicker fusion period to obtain uniform perceived display brightness.

  • Patent number: 4656398
Abstract: A lighting assembly including a plurality of housing sections, a series of rib groups arranged circumferentially on the exterior of the housing sections, and a remote control assembly for selectively energizing tri-color diodes embedded in the ribs so that the rib groups can be selectively and independently caused to glow in various colors depending on the aspect of the electrical energy delivered to each particular rib group.

  • Patent number: 4049164
Abstract: An improved back frame for supporting a tank of compressed breathing air in a life support breathing system wherein the back frame includes a harness for securing the frame to a user's back. The improvement resides in part in the provision of inclined lateral edge rails on the frame which are spaced outwardly from the user's back at the upper portion thereof and are oriented to incline or extend inwardly toward the user's back at the lower portion thereof. A retaining strap is slidably connected at each of its ends to the upper portion of a correspondingly associated edge rail. In this manner the strap may be slid along the rails to adjust the retention force imparted to a tank of compressed air mounted thereunderneath. In addition, the retaining strap includes at one end a stepped bracket connector for altering the nominal length of the strap while a toggle latch is provided at the opposite end thereof for loosening and tightening the strap with respect to a mounted air tank.
