  • Publication number: 20030137059
Abstract: A slotted file is created by connecting two side walls and a back wall. The side walls have etched grooves facing directly across from each other. The platelet has flanges that fit into the grooves. In one embodiment, a completed cube is formed when the platelets fill the slotted file.

  • Patent number: 4347552
Abstract: A lead (12) of an electrical component (10) is formed with an arrowhead-shaped tip (20) that functions to mechanically fasten the lead and component to a substrate (14), such as a flexible printed circuit (11). The tip is formed with barbs (21) extending rearwardly from the end (22) of the tip and having a width (W) across the barbs greater than the diameter (d) of a mounting hole (13) in the substrate. With this arrangement, the barbed tips may be inserted into and through the hole, with the barbs being compressed relatively inward with respect to the hole as the tip passes through the hole, so as to fasten the tips to the substrate in preparation for a soldering operation, in which the tips are soldered (30) to conductive pad areas (16) deposited on the surface of the substrate adjacent to the tips.

  • Patent number: 4307690
Abstract: A speed regulator or governor for an engine. The governor utilizes the approximate digital equivalent of a lead and a lag feedback network in combination with a stored, digital, nonlinear look-up table, or other nonlinear means, to control engine speed. The governor controls the engine at different fixed engine speeds in response to demand, or at continuously variable engine speeds in response to demand.

  • Patent number: 3967862
Abstract: In an anti-skid type control system for automotive vehicles, apparatus for maintaining wheel slip in a region of values associated with a maximum coefficient of road friction. Periodic modulation of the wheel brake torque in conjunction with wheel acceleration measurement are employed to determine the variation of the coefficient of road friction from an optimum value, while integral-plus-proportional control of the pulse modulation allows compensatory variation of the wheel torque and slip condition to a condition providing the optimum coefficient of road friction.

  • Patent number: 3930688
Abstract: An anti-skid control system for decreasing braking distance performance of a braked wheeled vehicle while maintaining the lateral stability thereof. The system is comprised of a digital data logic processor responsive to only wheel deceleration and wheel velocity of the braked vehicle for iteratively or alternatively preselectively attenuating and restoring an applied brake fluid pressure, so as to cause the brake system performance to track the knee of the road-torque versus wheel velocity envelope as a function of time. The only parameters employed are wheel deceleration, wheel velocity and mode time for mode-switching between the several control modes (selective brake pressure attenuation and restoration) employed, while the modes themselves include preselective time-scheduling of the respective brake pressure attenuation and restoration.
