  • Patent number: 11326994
Abstract: The present disclosure provides for parallel sample stress rupture test in a controlled environment by loading predefined amounts of weight on stack lines; positioning the stack lines on a tensioning platform in alignment with respective upper clamps when the tensioning platform is a first distance away from the upper clamps; clamping samples to a corresponding lower clamp and upper clamp pair; and moving the tensioning platform to a second distance away from the upper clamps that is greater than the first distance such that the stack lines are suspended above the tensioning platform to apply individual tensions to the individual samples based on the predefined amount of weight loaded onto the individual stack lines.

    Assignee: THE BOEING COMPANY
Inventors: Dennis L. Coad, Alan Buitekant, Douglas E. Bailey, James E. Russell, Patrick D. McAllister, Thomas M. Collins, Victor L. Alonso

  • Patent number: 5943832
Abstract: A flood or storm resistant barrier for a doorway or window opening. The barrier formed of a frame having two parts with one part in telescopic engagement with the other frame part. A manually operable jack in the form of four links pivotally connected to form a parallelogram linkage is inserted between the two frame parts. The jack being operable to move the frame parts relative to one another so as to vary the external dimension of the frame and thereby enable the frame to be secured in a doorway or window opening by expansion of the frame into engagement with opposed surfaces of the doorway or window opening. A waterproof barrier member is carried by the frame for blocking at least a portion of the doorway or window opening.

  • Patent number: 3967660
Abstract: To minimize gasoline spillage during the fueling of a pleasure boat, use is made of an overflow device that may be of a see-through plastic shaped to provide an adequate overflow chamber, which is positioned in the gas tank filler pipe, thereby enabling an overflow situation to be visually detected and appropriately attended to. Static electricity grounding during the fueling procedure, which ordinarily is achieved simply by establishing contact between the fueling nozzle and filler pipe, is, in this instance, achieved just as readily, even though the plastic device separates the fueling nozzle and filler pipe, merely upon the projection of the fueling nozzle into the overflow device.
