  • Publication number: 20240124934
Abstract: The invention provides DNA compositions that relate to transgenic insect resistant maize plants. Also provided are assays for detecting the presence of the maize DAS-59122-7 event based on the DNA sequence of the recombinant construct inserted into the maize genome and the DNA sequences flanking the insertion site. Kits and conditions useful in conducting the assays are provided.

  • Publication number: 20030105622
Abstract: Methods are provided for generating phrase chunking rules for titles of records in a database. According to one method, the title of each record in a first set of records is part-of-speech tagged, and a plurality of phrase chunking rules are created based on patterns of part-of-speech tags in the tagged titles. The phrase chunking rules are applied to the titles of records in a second set of records so as to generate indexes for the records in the second set of records. In a preferred embodiment, the phrase chunking rules are modified if coverage of the second set of records by the phrase chunking rules does not reach a predetermined threshold. Also provided are methods for retrieving records from a database and systems for generating phrase chunking rules.

  • Patent number: 4389024
Abstract: Method and apparatus for attenuating and collecting glass filaments are provided comprising a rotatable collet adapted to wind said strands thereon; a traversing means adapted to move the strands along the length of said collet, said traversing means having an axis of movement; guide means located adjacent said traversing means, said guide means having a plurality of spaced apart strand accommodating notches wherein at least two of the notches are contained in a reference plane that is obliquely oriented with respect to the axis of movement of said traversing means or axis of rotation said collet to facilitate the maintenance of the individuality of each of the strands being wound into said package.

  • Patent number: 4342579
Abstract: A method and apparatus for collecting strand are provided comprising: supplying a first strand segment; rotating a member to collect the first strand on the member; varying the speed of the rotatable member according to a predetermined pattern; sensing the absence of the first strand being wound around the member to identify a reference point in the pattern at the incidence of sensing the absence of the first strand; supplying a second strand segment to the member; initiating collection of the second strand upon the member having the first strand segment thereon substantially at a speed substantially corresponding to the reference point in the pattern; and continuing to rotate the member according to the pattern subsequent to the reference point to wind the second strand segment therearound.

  • Patent number: 4222758
Abstract: Apparatus for producing continuous glass filaments is provided to facilitate the start-up or restart of a system wherein said filaments are attenuated by means of a rotatable member in contact with said filaments as a plurality of spaced apart bundles having a predetermined number of filaments in each bundle.

  • Patent number: 4085901
Abstract: The present invention embraces apparatus for packaging linear material. The invention comprises a driven rotatable collet having a package collection region and a temporary collection region, a linear material engaging member having a recess and a guide surface terminating at one end at the recess; and means for moving the member so that the linear material is moved along the collet between the package collection region and the temporary collection region, the guide surface being disposed to laterally guide the linear material into the recess and gather the linear material into a bundle therein when the member is moved along a path to move the linear material from the package collection region to the temporary collection region, the recess being disposed tending to hold the linear material therein and thus urge movement of the linear material with it when the member is moved back along the path such that the material releases from the recess at its package collection region.
